How many of those people removed it within the first 5 minutes of playing?

I've put some time into it myself, but I know It's not for everyone and I know I won't stick with it.

People are desperate for a good MMO....They'll even try BU for the 3rd time.

It really is a different game.

I think they shot themselves in the foot by putting "Bless" in the title.

I think the game is "lite fun" and as people start hitting level cap it will hang a bit in popularity then start to plummet.

But it is fun in an amusement park type of way.

To put it in perspective, last night, about 2 am (as I'm on vacation so no set bedtime for me!) I struggled with whether I should log in for one more arena battle or take it to "today."

I really wanted to do one more something.

I haven't had that feeling in an mmorpg in a long time.

It certainly isn't the quests or the questline which I couldn't care less about. I just love the group boss battles and the arena fights and playing along side a lot of other people.

Steam has this game at 75k concurrent players at times. Its F2P with a heavy handed cash shop. I may just download it to see what the fuss is and I wonder how many people are playing like myself not knowing why its getting traction.

I played for about 4 hours, it was ok except the really bad UI, then I looked over the cash shop, logged out and removed it

I started playing this game the day after it launched and I’m having a great time. Currently I’m level 29 ranger. I bought one of the founder packs and haven’t used any thing on cash shop yet. For me, the game got better around level 25ish. The only thing I don’t like about the game right now is all the gold seller spam but that’s going to happen on F2P games.

Well between you and @Sovrath Im gonna spend an evening trying this out. Funny I did buy a copy of this game way back on the first NA launch. I swore then I would not buy another copy of this game and I guess being F2P I am keeping my word lol

I don't understand why people keep parroting the "blah blah 100th re-release blah blah" - I guess for them Final Fantasy 1 must have re-released more than 20 times by now.

Honestly Nanfoodle, it's not the same game.

And if they reused any resources I can't recognize a one.

Having said that, you have to put it in perspective.

I would make a few characters and try them out. The "start" allows you to try out a somewhat higher level character and you can experiment with the combos and some of the skills.

I highly recommend experimenting with the combos until you have them down. While fighting you will get an interface reminder as to what your choices are but it's always better to know them so you can concentrate on what's going on.

Also, pay attention to your skills. For example, I just learned that one of my skills is a sort of "power up" skill where I need to hold it down to get more power over a few seconds. I could release it immediately (which is what I was doing) but you get more damage by standing your ground and holding it.

Which of course leaves you open to getting downed by one of the bosses.

My opinion is that the boss battles and the arena fighting is where the game shines.

Oh sure, it's pretty enough and you will go back and forth between cities/towns but it does feel like a rather shallow world.

I also recommend upgrading your weapon the first chance you get. As part of the main quest line you will experience the first arena battle. There is an npc there who will upgrade your weapon.

Also keep in mind that you will have more skills to choose from as you level BUT you can only equip 4. And before people start screaming "only 4 skills!?!? Worse then ESO!" you have to remember the skills augment the combos.

On top of combos and skills you also have a blessing. You will have one already slotted but as you level you get more blessings. Each blessing will augment a different subset of skills and I sense that is how you steer your character toward a build type.

Oh, and I also forgot that you get skill points as you level so you can make your skills more powerful.

That's all I got for the moment. The main quest line will lead you through the world and it's there where you will find the boss battles.

After you do your first arena you can just match make them and you will be loaded into them.

I find those very fun as it's you and a stranger against a boss. I've yet to have a bad experience but clearly it's possible.

    Thanks.

To clarify "the skills work in tandem with the combos but don't affect the combos (unless someone knows something different.)

For example, I slotted a skill that allows me to bring up my shield for 2 seconds and if I receive an attack it's blocked and a riposte happens. However, it can be done during a combo pattern and will not interfere with the combo pattern.

I imagine each class has similar skills.

Also "fyi" there is a lot of gold seller spam because "sigh."

Unleashed is actually more fun than OG Bless. The story is still shitty, which is a bummer, but it feels like a better game. The only thing i miss from OG Bless is tab target gameplay. I play a mage and IMO it was just more enjoyable to not have to aim in the old game. I'll probably just play this one with a controller instead.

EDIT: one thing that i do find really absurd and should be fixed is.... why in the world can't you jump while running? it makes no sense. It feels like they didn't take into account keyboards with anti-ghosting.

The only way to run and jump is to "run" and then let go of the run button and hit jump.

The only way to make that comfortable would probably be to reassign the keys so that control is roll and space is jump.

Don’t listen to the negative comments from steam or here. People with less than 10 hours are irrelevant.

I’ve been playing since day 1, got myself lv33 Mage and enjoy it every bit. Cash shop is custom and mount + convenient features (exp buff + revive scrolls) which help casual. There is ZERO p2w concern as PvP is such minor part (arena + open world but no one bother cuz zero rewards).

The game is free. The combat is top notch. Dungeons are super challenging and require good mechanics. So try yourself and ignore all the trolls here.

Personally, this game much better than overhype New World. The skill system, combat, mounts, matchmaking. It not generic gathering/crafting stimulator. Hope it will grow.

If you are prone to dismiss games over cash shops, perhaps you should look them over before playing the game for four hours.

Yes that's exactly what I did. Ctrl = roll, Space = jump. The game really doesn't seem to register pressing three keys at the same time. I haven't seen that in years.
