WOW is like pop music - watered down crap to appeal to the masses. It's trendy. I have never and will never play this game. I feel proud that I never jumped on the band wagon. People ran to this MMO like cattle, heh. Idiots..
I miss the good ol' days when nerds were actually intelligent.
The fact that, 1.5 years later, my complaints are exactly what they were at the beginning. Let's use the past two weeks as an example:
Cenarion Circle has been down every evening -- actually, up, down, lagging to the point of unplayable; with comments about how they fixed the problem Wed. night until magically the same problem recurs the next night. Why is this annoying? Because it's the same tap-dance that's been going on since day one.
Take right now. I'm posting here, because I can't log into Cenarion Circle AGAIN (fifth night in a row) -- and there's yet another "the problem is being looked at, should take the rest of the night" comments out.
Beyond that:
1) L33t-speak. 2) Idiots. If I say "no" to a duel invite, take it as a "no" ... don't keep asking fifty-three times and dancing around me. (otherwise known as, GROW UP) 3) Utter lack of roleplay, even on RP servers. And I don't mean "wow, look at me, I can pretend to talk in a British accent (or type in one)". I mean, people actually ACTING the part -- as in, Paladins who behave like Paladins, etc. Then again, this isn't a unique problem to WoW -- almost no MMORPG has gotten around the fact that the bulk of the people just want to run and shoot (for lack of better words).

Now i hate to quote on peoples personal opinions but i would just like to point out that when you die, you can simply respawn straight at the graveyard rather than running to your corpse.
However, i do agree with all your opinions except for the graphics, lol. But i guess thats why its a personal opinion

Of course I know you can respawn at the graveyard, but when the option is given not to, and is a more attractive one, then that can be said to be the result of death.
The community does bother me sometimes. Usually when I'm trying to get an answer to a question and I get a bunch of smartass replys. But really the lag bothers me the most.
Oops, gotta add to my last comment: make that, now Cenarion Circle is completely down (among lots of others) because the problems they said they 'fixed' keep recreating new problems that translate into... more up/down/out BS. So it's down, effectively been down most of the day, with a note that they don't expect to resolve it until somewhere around 11pm Pacific. Gotta move "get your servers fixed" to the top of the list. Even above the community's... rampant immaturity. What's amazing? That the game, for all the complaints, remains sufficiently fun (when actually up) as to keep drawing me back every so often. THAT's an achievement that shouldn't be ignored.
What else? Crafting needs an overhaul to become more useful instead of just a tacked-on "we've got crafting" afterthought. New creature models so the level 1 wolf and the level 20 wolf don't look IDENTICAL except for a different adjective in the name -- that would be nice (as one example). Lag (a universal complaint of online games, though there's a persistency to WoW's lag that is just aggravating). L33t-speak. Useless CS (also not a new thing for online games).

You think it is watered down but you've never played the game?
I actually do hate some aspects of the game. Mostly the connection problems. There are some community issues but that is not that big of an issue on my opinion. One thing I do hate is shire impossibility of raiding a major town. Once a person is killed he/she can run to the corpse and resurrect and continue to annoy that raid. Also the NPCs resurect very fast making raiding major town nearly impossible. Well that is the thing I currently don't enjoy as I am in the raiding part of the game (60 with a tier 2 set).

Anyone else agree or am I just crazy?
Agreed, people should be able to think up a better name then that, or at least use the random name generator. At least it won't be as bad as Ipwnu, stupid kids...
1) (people in game) can you help me do a mission ,(me) Yes,(people in game) can you meet us at <insert dungeon>, {catch loads of transport}, (me) where are you guys, (people in game) ahh its ok my mates mate is going to join us,

yes and this has a simular affect.
3) The whole BG thing, there must be a more intelligent way, I do enjoy a few sessions of BG just to break the Grind monotony that occurs.
4) the gates of Ahn Qiraj which person thought this crap up, That one person gets to decide when the gates open, it was a server grind, why should one person get too determine the time and date

6) names in game like IPLAYTOPLAY or other equal non RPG names.
7) Lag, WTF, 2500+- per server is maximum server population, we all pay £9 per month, come on get this together, its not 5M players, its 2500 - 2800 people max per server at one time, why can we not have a good wholesome RAID that does not turn into a slide show.
8) Incomplete mission chains for toons i.e Druids, where if ever are they going to give druids more content for the lore.

There is a huge difference between calling certain (large) portions of the community idiots and petitioning about it. Stupid people use the /petition option because he said she said that he said that she said I was a dork head. Thats a lot different then coming to a forum to talk about the community as a whole.
One day I was in Westfall on a PvP server and I attacked a horde character. Someone thought that since it was a RP-PVP server that I shouldn't attack every horde I see. I called them a stupid noob - because they were. Their response was to petition me. In my 10 years of gaming I have rarely ever called anyone a stupid noob - I think its a totally overused term. But the one time I call somone a noob they report me. haha
.......I'm still waiting to hear from Blizz on their chosen means of discipling me. Yes theres a major difference and in no way am I being hypocritial like you're suggesting.
