I love how beautiful and lyrical the world design is. The game is so achingly beautiful but I am so sad the action combat is too hard for me so I might not be able to play this. I love the Empress such a great look and so graceful. They have some amazing artist for sure.

I doubt my 1070 will be up to the task either. I will satiate my interest by watching youtube vids once this releases.

The game runs okay on my gtx 760 if a tad low on the fps but nothing gamebreaking. Also the combat is not super twitchy, I find it much slower paced than most action games. Fairly certain your 1070 will run this just fine.

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

I've got a 1070, ran it on High, and was typically 50-60 FPS in towns, and better outside of towns. I'll have to see how the Invasions and such go, as I'd expect to have to turn things down to medium, but you should have absolutely no issues with a 1070.

That zone looks gorgeous. I also really like their lore with this mysterious island that has attracted people for thousands of years. It gives them nearly infinite creative room for zone diversity based on a variety of cultural myths: Atlantis, El Dorado, Shangri-La, Valhalla, the Fountain of Youth, Eden... it can all be there.

Love the Empress and Chinese theme in Ebonscale.

Future content sure has a lot of possibilities, and the ability to blend them together really does make the game more interesting.

I hate twitchy game play also but this game is not very twitchy, I've played BDO and Ican hardly stand most of the classes there with there twitchy movements to attack. I use the Rapier here which compared to the other weapons looks the most twitchy. In actuality the twitch is in your head since it's just light or heavy swings and block actions just like Skyrim and learning how to dodge at the right time.

The idea of a "Lost World" setting which we got from the earliest releases about this game is clearly coming to fruition. Now you may say this is an excuse for adding any pre-modern zone the developers fancy putting in, but its a good excuse. How often have you seen hugely different adjacent zones with no explanation of why they are so different.

It also gives me more faith about the fantasy generic armour issue, that we saw in that 'catwalk show'. Surely we are not going to see more like that when they have so much to draw from here?

One thing I found bizarre was Micheal (could not see surname) mentioning their "geopolitical teams" not sure what on earth that was meant to be, unless NW is going to be leveraging political influence on the world stage. ;)

Whilst I cannot deny that the graphics in this game are really great and the world building is really high quality, I still find it very generic and have yet to be inspired by the world. Maybe that is because I haven't seen the endgame zones first hand.

My time in the recent open beta definitely went a lot better than expected, the game has improved loads since my first alpha test.

I really liked the fact that the game seemed to have no story. Virtually every quest I got was either 2 sentences of text, or nothing at all. This really allowed me to focus on playing the game and get into the world, giving a somewhat sandboxy vibe even though it isn't a sandbox.

However, as with all action combat games, I got bored very quickly. Took about 20 hours this time round but with such a limited number of skills to use in combat, there was just no challenge at all. Virtually no tactics involved, and the action part of the action-combat was very slow and unresponsive. The only thing that seemed to take skill was ranged combat, but even there I know that getting better would be a simple matter of training to build muscle memory.

I liked the crafting in the game so I look forwards to seeing how that works out. However, the amount of loot getting handed out for completing quests really undermined the crafting system.

Im definitely now very curious to see how NW fares after launch.

Yeah I have a 1060 and 9400F and I had 40ish in town and 60 outside. It seemed almost to work better on older hardware than on super beast PCs, if you went by the forums and reddit sub
