Decent RPG played with a mouse

FyshFysh Member Posts: 4

Hello,

I have played RPGs for many years. I played most of the big name games, but my favourites have been LOTRO, Everquest II, Guild Wars, and back in its day DAoC.

As a disabled person, I am finding it increasingly difficult to use a keyboard, and now almost entirely use a mouse and voice recognition software.

Could anyone recommend any decent, in depth, MMORPGs that can be played using only a mouse? I'm not particularly looking for spectacular graphics, just a good solid RPG. My preferred genre is Fantasy.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi there! =)

I have played over 60 mmorpgs, so I can give you two examples that fits with the mouse!

http://vgplayers.station.sony.com/ | Vanguard is like a jewel and it is one of the best mmorpgs I have ever played. Since you have played others mmorpg that are kinda similar, you won't find any problem getting in to it! It is a really in-depth mmo and it is great, even tho the community is small. Check it out!

http://www.drakensang-online.com/ | Drakensang is like Diablo, but with beautiful graphics! It runs in the browser and the reason why this game is perfect, is because you use the mouse in the combat and almost 100% of the time. It is a neat game and it is one of my favorites. I highly recomend this for you! Not as "deep" as Vanguard, but it fit your style and that is why this is so good for you!

Check out Drakensang Online first! It is free, a very small game that runs in the browser and it fits perfect for your needs! If you do NOT like it, THEN you can check out Vanguard! Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for the suggestions. Currently having a go at Drakensang. It's certainly interesting, but still making my mind up.

    EVE

Its probably best what MMO will ever be. But its not for everyone since its PVP and sandbox.

But its played 100% with mouse. And its really slow paced

wow, that surprises me. I've occasionally thought about EVE for the in-depth crafting, but I've always thought there was a lot of real-time space combat which I didn't think I would be very good at.

    Quite the opposite.

You just click on target. Than click on attack. And watch the show. Sometimes you can even go to make a sandwich ;)

EVE is the MMO equivalent of watching golf.

“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

    I hate golf !

However, I started playing EVE last Monday, and I'm absolutely loving it. I've already signed up for a paid account, and yesterday I joined a corporation. EVE online has a very steep learning curve, and is not for everyone, but I would definitely recommend it!

if anyone thinks of any other games, I would still love to hear about them.

EVE is probably the best game that can be played with mouse only (well actually one of the best MMO's period). Doubt you can find any better. Been havin' an itch to go back lately.

I primarily play wow (World of Warcraft) with a mouse. Been trying out others with no luck finding what works best for me.  Mouse works great for PVE.  PVP you would want to use the keyboard.  I will say I tried a gaming mouse it did not work for me.  I use a trackball mouse.
