I had no interest when I first heard of it (being the habitual murder hobo that I am in MMOs) but now I feel like checking it out.

I'm not too worried about the permadeath. At least not yet. It's pretty obvious whether you are outmatched as soon as you get into a fight and the flee option allows you to run away.
Imagine like Baldurs Gate but you dont have a Pause option, so its real time but there is Initiative as a stat that shows whos gonna attack first and Speed which determines how fast you attack. But, you have to decide when you're gonna attack, aka click the Attack button... Anyway, its real time, but methodical.
Couple of things...
1) If a boat doesn't show up in like 2 or 3 minutes you have to change server, that means boats are bugged on that server. No other solution for now, we got to wait for a fix.
2) I dont believe they will change the permadeath system, its intertwined with the whole game, you get life petals back fairly easily, you just need to find a way how. Hint: You have three ways how to get them back. Most of them are easy, one might be harder, but still, its not awful or anything. Plus, when you die you become a ghost, for now there is no way for you to return to the living world once you become ghost, but it will be there in the future.
3) The main quest doesnt start on random, the very first person that talks to you tells you to "look for a temple in Bat Saha"... just follow that, that works as a "main quest line" even though you can do whatever you want. Also, you HAVE to learn the language of the region to know how to read stuff, up until then everything will be worded with "????"... thats also a part of the main quest line.... Bat Saha is important.
The game is amazing for me and everything i had hoped for since the Kickstarter ended..
I'm going to wait a week or so to play it though. I'm excited about it but I also have other things to keep me busy and hopefully they can squash bugs in the meantime. I'll wait even longer if need be, I'd like it to be stable before I hop in so I can just let the game wash over me.
seems dreamworks did too!
ok this isn't a dreamworks stuff of course but it's really chill and beautiful
the draw are beautiful,
i wonder what's the part of mmo in it. special mention for the "grab a pen and paper to write the quest and hints, we dont do it for you"!
Bah no, I'll have forgotten all about it by then ....my memory just isn't what it used to be.
