Tried this game and surprisingly I liked it a lot. Short story.. you don't have to spend 2 years of your life or $20,000 to pvp competitively as in Black Desert, and RNG is nothing compared to BDO. Graphics look gorgeous on a nice card, plays smooth and loving the steampunk vibe.

I'm always trying to convince myself that "theres competition on every gear score possible", so I don't really understand this argument that You have to play 10395680 years to be competitive. Is it any different in BDO? Asking as I've never dove deep into the PvP back in the days I used to play.

Say you want to join a competitive pvp guild in BDO, you need full PEN or even lvl 20 Caphras full PEN. 1/12 PEN item can cost you between 1-6 months of irl time, or about $2k per p2w 1 gear item. And it used to be 100 times harder, with the release of New World BDO released a welfare PEN gear system that would still take months or years to accomplish, then you got a new top pvp gear coming soon, and increased the trash loot by about %1000 to help players with a life gear up somewhat.
TET gear, or 2nd best is almost free, but you get 1shot wearing those rags unless you're wiz or sage.. the devs fave children.
Yes BDO has the best action combat system ever, but.. that is PVE. PVP is garbage, the game is ruled by desync, FPS puts you about 1 second ahead of your rival, DP or defense points is a joke, and everyone wears the same gear, literally there are only 2 gear sets.
Node Wars and Red Battle Field is an AoE instadeath parade, you need top gear, top dollar, 150+ FPS and at least 166 hrtz monitor to pvp competitively in BDO. Ungeared pvp tier in BDO is non existant unless you want to die in .001 second. Try it.

Yikes, the fact that 1 tier lower gear still makes you vulnerable to being 1-shot by anyone is laughable. I don't know how much of a role plays knowing your skillset here and knowing other classes, but I'll stick to this description by now.
Thanks for the insight. I didn't know it remains that bad over the years.

You sure it was Elyon you played?
