imageNew World Devblog Apologizes For Issues Seen In Player Wars Thus Far, Lays Out Vision For Future PvP Tweaks | MMORPG.com

To say New World has had some struggles since launching a month ago is an understatement. One of the areas where these issues are keenly felt, though, is in the MMO's PvP, especially its player wars. The developers took to the dev blog this afternoon to talk about some of the changes coming to PvP and Wars in Aeternum.

AGS developers have talked more about what needs to be fixed than they have fixed in the month the games been out.

Nothing is working properly, and they've not released a single meaningful patch in a month.

It's actually worse than Final Fantasy 14 when it launched.

It's basically a broken game. That's not even exaggeration.

AGS developers must resign themselves to the fact that they made a completely wrong use of the resources they had. to say that the game is broken is too little to describe the current state.
the only way to solve it is to start from 0 with a new game by not letting the same people who ruined this one get their hands on. The developers missed the last 20 years of programming and security.

Defenders should win more than attackers otherwise whats the point of defending a base? 80% of time might be a bit high though?

You can't fix unknown problems until they happen, things don't always work, as first envisioned. Revision is standard practice when your making anything. Products that have been on the market for decades are consistently revised.

Competency is what we're going to see shape out here. And I'm not talking how bad someone is at the trade. I'm talking about how good they are.

At least they are communicating and acknowledging the problems. They could be like some companies that just ignore the player base while they slowly try to implement fixes. I'm just not gonna lose sleep over this; wake me up when it's working properly.

And with each patch they seem to break something. And when they do it is something important.

Wow, they seem to be missing what the actual issues are, people are not fatigued from Wars, most never get a look in due to its set up, the cliques controlling it dont like letting randoms in and losing their territory.

Things are pretty messy but if you really played FFXIV initial release,  you couldn't say that with a straight face.

I did play and enjoy parts of 1.0. It was not a buggy mess, just rushed out with a lack of content and a world map that needed adjustment. This game is bug after bug that they keep adding to. If you play FF14 near the end of it's 1.2 days you would have seen a solid game in need of a rebuilt map. Sadly now it's just WoW but prettier, but that's great for those who enjoy it.

    I did play it.

NW has the exact, EXACT same issues, compounded by not a single mechanic in the game actually working as it's intended. FF14 did NOT have that problem.

Nothing in NW works as it's supposed to, and in one month they haven't made a single meaningful improvement to the game, breaking more than they've fixed.

You're defending a miltibillion dollar company that charged for a wholey incomplete, and piss poorly put together product. Good on you bro, good on you.

I'm starting to think the future vision that I might hold out for is when they launch fresh start servers in a year or so, after all of the issues get resolved.

C'mon, you know they are going to have to do it eventually, just a matter of when, not if.

No I don't agree with you on this.  You can discover unknown problems before they release.  Throwing resources at a good QA/QC system would be a start.  Where is the test server where bugs like this are being discovered?  They had multiple levels of test servers both internally and externally 20 years ago where testers would actually help discover these bugs prior to full release.

What Amazon is doing is just reacting to problems as they happen instead of solving them before they happen.  Many of these bugs are found a day or less after they release a patch.  If they were using a decent test server they would have easily found it before a full rollout.

In addition alot of these problems were discovered in alpha/beta and never fixed, in addition to the areas where problems would exist being very predictable.

So I agree you cant discover every single problem that will exist, you can predict, research, repair most of them through quality control systems before they make it to customers and on test servers that can be fully reset without killing the entire population.
