Kakao Games is the New Publisher for ArcheAge Franchise, Promising Simultaneous Global Updates | MMORPG.com
Starting in December, Kakao Games takes over as publisher for ArcheAge and ArcheAge: Unchained, promising a new chapter with synchronized global updates.
One reason I didn't bother playing ArcheAge is because .. well .. Trion/Gamigo.
If they will open New Server(s), I might .. go ahead and give it a try.

Huh?! Global updates to AA:Unchained? So maybe finally they will deliver those visual overhauls that were promised promised from release (use this as a LOL button).
I think you guys are being WAY too optimistic. What makes you think this will change from being the heavy p2w bloated game that it is?
EDIT: Also no one plays this game anymore. Only a hundred players or so players even bother to log on. Whatever happened to the Massively multiplayer part of this game. Do they really expect people to return to this game while also attracting new players? Get rid of p2w and I'll think about it.

Actually there's logic behind that. Bear in mind that ArcheAge was the best sandbox MMO that existed for many people, and those people are still being nostalgic about it. Nostalgic enough to be convinced by a re-re-release under another flag with another beautiful promise (not) to be delivered. Damn, I've never played it until the Unchained version that got me deceived by this "UH OH LOOK AT NEW GRAPHICS TO COME" mixed with a decent PvP, sandbox elements and open world housing. I'd probably play it today casually if they really took it seriously to visibly remake the game visually and not fool around with p2w or other shady shit and problems with servers/exploits. But eh, with Archeage2 on the vague horizon, we're better off waiting I guess.
EDIT: Bear in mind (2) that Steam statistics are just a % of total playerbase using separate launcher, however small that remains anyway lol.

Way to little, way to late. A lot of people loved archeage, lasted through the abuse, and finally had to leave. I'd be shocked if they came back because kakao.

I am an account holder in both AA Legacy and in Unchained. One thing that I like about unchained was the buy it once and play forever that was promised. No monthly fee. Now that a new company is taking it over there is a monthly fee being charged which will run the rest of the players off the game. I am not sure what I will do. I have about 5 years in playing this game and enjoy it most times.
