Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG announced tonight during Geoff Keighley's The Game Awards that the upcoming MMOARPG Lost Ark will finally hit Western shores on February 11th, 2022.

    At this point, Lost Ark is light years away from New World. They should of release Lost Ark instead and keep working on NW.

    Less time for me to decide if I want to cancel my purchase. Watching Amazon fumble New World I hope they keep their hands out of most of what SG does with Lost Ark.

    easy decision for me to stay away from lost ark after amazon destroyed new world . they are owners of aws servers but they cant optimise servers for their own game . so easy decision i pass on lost ark and any game that amazon touches in future.

    'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless. 

    It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

    It is just huge resource waste....'

    I'm afraid GW2 EOD will be dead on arrival especially since it doesn't really bring much innovation or a fresh new experience other than more of the same. Lost Ark Feb 11, then Elden Ring Feb 25 is going to be a super exciting time for gamers!

    The whole world has been waiting for Lost Ark for ten years now....I'm glad it took that long since we are gonna get a finished quality product with nearly endless fun fresh new content releases.

    AGS is "using" AWS Servers, not owning them, two different things ;) AGS and AWS are two different companys (just under the umbrella of Amazon)

    The entirety of WoW infrastructure and all other blizzard games are on Amazon AWS servers. Has nothing to do with AGS.

    you got to separate the game itself from what amazon is doing, and has done. So far all they've done is ruin a lot of the cosmetics, blackfaced half the npcs, and use the auto-mod system from new world.
    Most their employees have lied, and are lying about what they've done and are doing, like how they lied about new world's auto-mod system, where anyone can get you temp banned, without any human oversight. They really are a company you can't trust at all, with how they are handling new world.

    Lost Ark has a solid track record but it still worries me Amazon is part of this. After Watching NW launch, instead of jumping on LA, I'm gonna watch how the first few months play out. I don't trust Amazon as a game developer.

    My wife actually loves videogames. She’ll also be thirty six weeks pregnant with our third daughter coming Valentines Day. I love your plan though, I just don’t know if I’ll survive it ;)

    I think New World's setting is far more appealing to western audiences.  If the games were of roughly equal quality, I feel like New World would be far more popular, at least here in NA.

    They just moved up their release window a month+/- so they could start actually earning money from their investment in video games. And to get the $ to fix and finish Lumberyard and New World. At least, that's what I'm hoping inspired this decision to change from sometime in March to early February.

    If you intend top play a female toon always make sure it looks like the girlfriend/wife, a mate of mine swore by this but I leave it to you discretion on how beneficial this might be. :)
