Yeah.. Vanguard is now $OE's pretty pretty.

But I'm ok with it now. All the promise the game had is gone, and it is just a matter of time before $OE kills it too. They're like Lenny from Of mice and Men, they don't know petting the pretty pretty too hard kills it.
But after a PM from a fan, I decided to just let it all go.
Yeah, if anyone jumps me over anything.. I'll spout off some smartassed remark.. but other than that, I'm out of this section of the forum. Yeah, I was bummed when they were assimilated by the great satan $OE. I wanted to play this game. A lot of us were. A lot of us loathe $OE and will be showing it. But I urge others to just let the kids have their fun. The payoff is sweeter later.
So you can all have your drum circle and pray the sky isn't falling. When it does, I'll swing by and point it out quickly and move on. The Shatenfreude is too much to give up.
But until the giant pieces fall and they call it Everquest 3 : Saga of Heroes or something similar, I'm off to hype a real game called Warhammer. That, and tear $OE more holes on the SWG forum.

I have zero interest in playing Vanguard whatsoever, and yet I still found all of your "$"OE rants (including this rant about supposedly being done ranting) exhaustingly annoying.

Play the game; don't play the game. It's your choice. Problem is you have made your choice based on an understanding of the Sigil/SOE situation that is wrong. It's your loss.

They weren't. SOE have about as much say in Vanguard as a turkey gets about whether he's going to get his neck wrung at christmas.

The protests of a minority of ex-vanguard fans that won't give any money to SOE will make not one iota of a difference to the companies future. I respect you for your choice to stick at something that you believe in, but, c'mon, this is a computer game. If it was a matter of life and death of thousands of under-privaliged kids then 'woot' keep it up. It's not...it's a game. Plus you have your facts of the situation and the roles of the two companies all wrong. You are making a badly informed decision; the equivalent of not voting for a politician because you have been wrongly told he is an alien from the planet Zlbgarg.

It's amazing how the more rabid of the fanbois can dismiss the new $OE link and how it highly clouds the future of Vanguard. To quote the PM that inspired me to let it go...
"What's the point of rallying against VG now, when it is much sweeter to come back and give us an i-told-you-so when soe has actually ruined it?" Well put.
So have fun kids, and remember that you can now buy the Station Pass and for one low low price, you too can play all the other games $OE has ruined too!

You are correct my mistake, i guess it was just blind hope on my part that it was complete exile.
give it time Shayde, after Vanguard gets a revamp or releases 8 buggy publishes in a row or gets caught in numerous lies perhaps then the fanbois here will wake up to reality.
And that reality is SOE doesnt give a rats behind about its customers. They will lie, cheat, steal your money, ignore your posts, ignore your input, and whatever else they deem necessary to make a profit.

Vanguard may or may not be a great or even a good game -- I honestly cannot predict.
SOE may or may not have been the proper choice as a business partner -- that remains to be seen.
And, btw, the crazier you sound, the easier it is to dismiss what you say.

Though...perhaps I can't keep from getting my jabs in. Nice revisionist history there, Shayde. If you remember, correctly...which you've just prooven that you don't, the old New York or wherever based SOE was dismantled and Verrant, a San Diego (or whever) based company was renamed SOE. They even kept the same building. So if you by "Sold out" you mean "is" then yes.
I would assume that Verrant would have gone along the same path that SOE did only with a different name. And if you think Verrant sold EQ to SOE, you'd be wrong as well...because they never owned the Intellectual Property....which you know...you kind of have to own to sell....unless you are IGE.

Here you are, big guy. Not sure what you are expecting. Alot of good (I think) reasons I posted for why people like Shayde are no more than an irritation, the other side of the fanboi coin.

What I don't get is why this guy keeps trolling this forum? Its pretty obvious he thinks SOE is hell incarnate. Its like someone that doesn't drink hanging out in a bar all day telling everyone WHY he doesn't drink.
