What about Star Wars Galaxies forced you to cancel?

Your poll is not entirely accurate on the answer I picked.

I am still playing SWG.. I picked playing-and-loving-it, because that was closest, but it isn't true. (it's closer to the truth than the "it will end soon" thing, though)

I've always *liked* it.. never really *loved* it. Really burned out on it right now, but not leaving anytime soon. I just switch to other games for a couple nights and come back and I can deal with things again.

Your poll is sorta messed up lol

You have like 4 negative things and one good thing.  It should be equal. 4 bad and 4 good or something else.

Also, I quite for all the bad reasons you listed so the poll was sorta generalized

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

The poll should look something like this....

     - Malkavian image

"When you find yourself falling into madness... Dive." - Malkavian Proverb

"When you find yourself sinking into Madness, dive"

Guys, this is not about are you playing SWG and why, this is a poll on why you quit, if you did.  I added in the last 2 just for fairness.  They make sense anyway, I mean either you are still playing and like / love it, or you are intending to quit.  The poll is not asking if you still play and why or why not, its asking WHY you quit.  And about it being all the reasons, well there was something that stood out and forced you to quit, personally for me it was the nerfs.  There is something in your head that sticks out, in which is the reason you quit, I was just curious about the biggest reason.   I added in the last 2 simply so people that haven't quit can cast their vote.

No one posted WHY they still played. We're just constructively criticizing an otherwise pointless poll.

    I cancelled SWG because:

The bugs and nerfs ticked you off?

The customer support staff seemed uncaring?

    The game lacked content?

Lucasarts / SOE does not listen to the general public?

    SWG is Everquest in space?

I am still playing SWG and loving it?

I am still playing SWG but it is coming to an end soon?
    Helios

Yet another example of a 100% BIASED poll. Most of the 'choices' are repeat of the same 'choices'.

     - Bugs and Nerfs ........ is all that needed to be said instead of 'ticked you off'. Meaning the player became angrey, and emotional. Instead of a picture of a non-emotional player who stopped playing.

     - Number 2 and Number 4 are the exact same choices LOL!

     - Number 3 is legitimate. And an example of a neutral sentance which is how a non-biased poll is suppose to be set up.

     - Number 5 shows you hate both EQ and SWG. BTW both are the 2 most successfull MMORPGs out right now. And... SWG is not 'EQ in space' both games are 100% different. You would know this if you played BOTH games.

     - I love how you put a question mark at the end of the sentance for Number 6. So that any SWG fan who takes this 'unbiased poll' of yours , who wants to pick the best choice, still sounds like they are questioning why they are playing.

     - Same thing with number 7.

SWG is far from coming to an end soon LOL. It is now 6 months old, has over 330,000 accounts, and still growing.

1 year from now it will start entering its prime.

It also has its Space Expansion slated for release next.

Well, speaking of making up information.  Let me recap information you've spread that was completely false.

    1.  You stated that men have been able to walk around topless since launch.  FALSE.

    2.  You stated SWG didn't ship out in 'your part of the country' until July.  FALSE.

    3.  You stated that SOE won't charge your 6 month subscription if you quit after one month.  FALSE.

    4.  You stated that you can cancel via a toll-free number from the official site.  FALSE.

    5.  You're throwing up a number of 330,000 registered accounts.  Where's that official number coming from?  Have a link?  I thought not.  FALSE.

If I look around, I could probably find some more FALSE information you throw around as 'fact'.

Star Wars® Galaxies™: An Empire Divided™ Surpasses 275,000 Registered Players
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - Aug. 27, 2003 - On the heels of the most successful introduction of a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game to date, LucasArts announced today that Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided has surpassed 275,000 registered users. Releasing on June 26th 2003, An Empire Divided has quickly become the second largest MMO in the U.S, in terms of registered users, and is the fastest growing MMO role-playing game (RPG) to date.

Well, speaking of making up information.  Let me recap information you've spread that was completely false.

    1.  You stated that men have been able to walk around topless since launch.  FALSE.

If a woman strips down to her bra in public, is that considered being topless?

'She has taken off her top' 'It's too hot out to be wearing a top' 'you spilled your dring on my top!' 'I'm taking my new top to the cleaners' 'A&S has his and her tops on sale for 1 week only'

Doctor says to male/female patient: 'Remove your top'

To take off one's top means they take off their usual public covering.

In SWG males have always been able to strip down to a 'muscle' shirt, and short boxer-tye shorts.

The context of your original statement was 'SWG sucks and is unplayable because now the DEVs say males can go topless'.

I then replied that what does it have to do with making the game 'suck', and that males have always been able to go topless.

Then/now we can hash over the definition of 'topless'.

I live in NJ. Go into a 'Topless' stripbar and the women strip down to either pasties or bikini bras. In New York, go into a 'Topless' Stripbar and the women strip down to either pasties or bare skin.

    2.  You stated SWG didn't ship out in 'your part of the country' until July.  FALSE.

The GameStop I went to perchase SWG at is in NYC, on 6th Ave and 44th street. They did not have SWG until July. My part of the country is called the 'Tri-State Area'. This includes NJ, PA, NY, and (even though the term is 'tri') RI and CT. Sometimes NH and VT.

    3.  You stated that SOE won't charge your 6 month subscription if you quit after one month.  FALSE.

If one quits after 1 month how the heck can SONY charge for 6 months?

    Look at this picture:

    http://community.webshots.com/s/image6/2/99/70/80229970GfDSKp_fs.jpg

See that? That is the Game Launcher. See the link that says 'ACCOUNT' ? If one clicks on it it pulls up your account. There is an option that says cancel .

One can also click on the link that says 'SUPPORT' which provides information to mail SWG, as well as a phone number to call during Pacific Standard Time.

    4.  You stated that you can cancel via a toll-free number from the official site.  FALSE.

If you want to believe there is no phone number to call to cancel then believe what you want. If you want to believe a billion dollar company has no phones, then that is you.

    5.  You're throwing up a number of 330,000 registered accounts.  Where's that official number coming from?  Have a link?  I thought not.  FALSE.

If I look around, I could probably find some more FALSE information you throw around as 'fact'.

Heheheh. Now this statement right here sums up all your posts. When I confront you with facts, and proof, you simply ignore it.

You are now saying all information at the official LucasArts site is false?

You are now saying all information at the SONY / SWG / Station.com site is false?

And I have always said SWG has 300,000 accounts. With 330,000 closer to the actual number. But that fluctuates. SWG has a solid 300,000 accounts.

Just like when someone says 'I make 50,000.oo a year' when they actually make 50,300.oo a year.

  •  Motorhead,

BTW, if all information at LucasArts site, and at SONY's site is false (according to you) then why stop with Star Wars Galaxies?

     - EverQuest never ever had 400,000 accounts

     - EQ has never made 80 million dollars.

     - EQ is not the most popular MMORPG in the world.

(Lineage has more accounts, but 90% of it's playerbase is in Asia)

     - EQ is not the most popular MMORPG in the USA.

     - EQ is a flop. It is going to die at any moment. No one plays EQ.

     - Knights of the Old Republic is a flop. It has not sold well. It is going to die at any moment. Don't believe any information at LucasArts that says otherwise.

     - All other LucasArts games, Jedi Outcast, Jedi Powerbattles, etc.. and more, are all flops. Any sales numbers posted by LucasArts are all false.

I was a Jedi for a few weeks in the vehicle patch when i replayed it.  Basically, i played it for 2 days before getting the message.

It's really not that difficult.  My spouse and I knew about the profession system to get the Jedi (when the Holocron hints came out, it wasnt suprising).

We played the Jedi for a little bit.  I dont know if it was nerfed or what, but the grinding for xp with the Jedi is makes grinding to Master Armorsmith feel like a trip to park.

We mastered 13 professions since release.  Againt, no to hard when you have a couple people playing the same character and easy to do since you can master a medic in 2 weeks and Entertainer in 2 weeks.

We were never a Bounty Hunter and we were never a Commando.  But we did open the FS slot.

It's been done and its been done many many times

    Exactly.

I can't even call this guy a fanboi.  Even fanboi's have some shreds of dignity.  This guy just posts whatever he wants, and then claims it's fact.  Even though, most of what I've seen him post has been pure illusion....

Ummm .... Once again, this means nothing.

I know 6 people (including myself) who are 'registered users'.   But none of those 6 (including myself) have played this 'game' in months......

'Registered Users' and 'Paying Subscribers' are two different things.

SWG does not have 300,000 Paying Subscribers.  Never have.  Never will.

LOL guys, coming to an end soon does not mean that the game is coming to an end, I meant your current subscription.  Geez.  Plus, I HIGHLY doubt SWG is coming to an end, it has well over 300,000 subscribers, and yes I have a link http://www.stratics.com/ Alright, and another thing, Xplororor, do not jump to conclusion, I am by no means bashing this game.  I love SWG, I think its great, the nerfs just ticked me off, bottom line.  This is not a biased poll, if you still play, don't post if you don't want to, I'm not forcing anyone to post here, I was just curious why the general public left.  And another thing xplororor, Listening to the general public and Customer support not responding to issues is a TOTALLY differant issue.  You should read more closelly before making assumptions.

Motorhead and others bashing the heck out of SWG every chance you get:  SWG is a successfull mmorpg, as much as you hope, pray, and wish that it would come to an end, I have news: IT WON'T  SOE has everquest, and even if SWG was not making money back, which it is, SOE would keep it going.  And Motorhead, as you refer to these "fanboi's" Star Wars is the largest Movie trilogy of all time, the biggest following, just because you hate something doesn't mean that you have to down the people that like it.   There are many people that love star wars that aren't considered "huge fans" and maybe that is what is keeping the SWG sales going, but hey, what's wrong with that?  It matters not if the majority of the 300k people playing the game are Fans, Hardcore Gamers, or Casual Gamers, they are selling and that is what it is all about.

Your opinion is cool and all.....but your thread started out pretty bias of why SWG sucked.  Why the change in opinion?  Just curious
