rkhinman, My poll was never meant to show that I did not like SWG, if that is the point I got across, I made a mistake. I know that many people here do not like SWG, and quit the game for differant reasons, I was just curious why they quit. Like I said, I like SWG a whole lot, I can honestly say it is the MMORPG that I have had the most fun on, and I've tried quiet a bit of them. And as I said before, I apologize if it seemed like my poll stated that I didn't like SWG, because I do. However, as we all know, even great games have down sides. The current bugs at the time we're making me extremely aggrivated, and the nerfs just pushed me over the edge. For an example, the game Freelancer was absolutely one of the best games I had ever played, however, they did not include an option to invert your mouse, so I immediately gave it up. I am by no means comparing SWG to Freelancer, but just using it as a comparison. I quit playing Freelancer due to the fact that you could not Invert, however it is one of the best games I had ever played. It is the same principle in SWG. The gameplay to me was great, and it was an excellent concept. I loved the fact that you didn't have to be combat, as you had the option to dance, be a musician, etc... But however, as I said, when the nerfing started, escpecially the FWG 5, I quit the game. So again I say, I apologize if I came accross as hating the game, because I think SWG is an excellent MMORPG and will always be on top as my favorite games of all time.
I am just so curious why everyone takes offense to someone saying that it is a bad game...are these people not allowed to have their own opinions? If you like the game fine, but don't flame other people for disagreeing with you. I played SWG from the beginning. I loved it at first because I was a swordsman and there were not really any bugs. Then it started. I went overt. Got my ass beat down. It is impossible for a melee (unless you are jedi) to take on a ranged. So I switched to ranged. Then came most of the nerfs. Then came the lack of content. SWG has been out what....6 months and only two major content updates? Holos come...so EQ memories come back of hours of camping to get a holo...I get some finally...first is to master carbine....then bh....3rd was silent...4th said freakin architect....and that sucked holy ass. I hate crafting professions. I am an adventurer...not a creator. Anyways soon after arch was mastered....fs was opened...played jedi for a while until they made it using sabers anywhere results in a TEF...so I said F OFF SWG. They do not listen to player base. And I am not talking about I want this or that I am talking about bugs. Finally I got sick of paying to beta for swg. I bet that it was about 70-75% when it hit shelves. SWG is now off my comp and now the disc has been microwaved and is in my coaster pile for drinks.

LOL, be careful man, some people in here will simply refuse to believe that you were Jedi. I was a Jedi as well. I went Master Medic-->Master Doctor-->Master Combat Medic-->Master Entertainer-->Master Dancer-->Master Armorsmith-->Master Artisan-->Master Pistoleer-->Master Swordsman-->Master Marksmen-->Master Droid Engineer.
Basically, when I got my holocron, It said Master Droid ENgineer....I was a little pissed since my spouse and I worked and grinded for Jedi (we knew about the profession system about 2 months before the DEVs hinted at it.
I was pretty pissed too when I made my first saber (red) and realized I had a TEF. So, that was the last straw for me. Well, that and other things.
But be ready, you'll have some people who will simply refuse to believe u actually opened a FS slot because there still playing it and haven't done so
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
I was a Jedi for a few weeks in the vehicle patch when i replayed it. Basically, i played it for 2 days before getting the message.
The problem is (even on the Official SWG forums) everyone says they either are a Jedi, have been a Jedi, could be a Jedi but don't want to be one. If you can please post a screenshot, then it would seperate you from all the people who have no proof.
(And I'd think anyone who became a Jedi would take at least a few screenshots.)
I'm not saying you're lying. I'm saying I, and everyone else here at this SWG forum, would like to congratuate you if you can post some proof like ingame screenshots. And we would also have no choice but to 100% believe you.
3. Where do you get your numbers from? Ah yes, you say and admit you completly make them up. Thank you for admitting that and helping me in my efforts to stamp out FALSE information.
Well, speaking of making up information. Let me recap information you've spread that was completely false.
1. You stated that men have been able to walk around topless since launch. FALSE.
If a woman strips down to her bra in public, is that considered being topless?
'She has taken off her top' 'It's too hot out to be wearing a top' 'you spilled your dring on my top!' 'I'm taking my new top to the cleaners' 'A&S has his and her tops on sale for 1 week only'
Doctor says to male/female patient: 'Remove your top'
To take off one's top means they take off their usual public covering.
In SWG males have always been able to strip down to a 'muscle' shirt, and short boxer-tye shorts.
The context of your original statement was 'SWG sucks and is unplayable because now the DEVs say males can go topless'.
I then replied that what does it have to do with making the game 'suck', and that males have always been able to go topless.
Then/now we can hash over the definition of 'topless'.
I live in NJ. Go into a 'Topless' stripbar and the women strip down to either pasties or bikini bras. In New York, go into a 'Topless' Stripbar and the women strip down to either pasties or bare skin.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH
Dude, now you're grasping for an explanation to get yourself out of that one.
Hmm... out of all my responses, you could only go after that one? Why not my responses to your other accusations? Ahh... because they were not False.
Alright, to save some space on MMORPG.com, I will say we are both right. I will say it :
You are right - SWG bragged that male characters, human and non-human, could now show their bare chests. At game launch they were not able to show their bare chests.
There.
Now, does this mean SWG "sucks"? Does this mean SWG is unplayable? Does this mean SWG has absolutly no fun to be found in it what-so-ever?

Ummm .... Once again, this means nothing.
I know 6 people (including myself) who are 'registered users'. But none of those 6 (including myself) have played this 'game' in months......
'Registered Users' and 'Paying Subscribers' are two different things.
SWG does not have 300,000 Paying Subscribers. Never have. Never will.
Ehh.. when you are registered it means you are paying.
SONY of course cannot force you to play their game - even though you are paying for it. Just like UO has over 100k accounts and roughly 50k players actually playing. Or EQ has over 400k accounts and roughly 200k to 300k players actually playing.
Furthermore, even at 300,000 accounts SWG is unlikely to have 300,000 players playing. Because some accounts are 2nd and 3rd accounts (even though SWG is SCS).
As long as the players are registered aka paying then SONY and LucasArts are collecting the money from them. Even if they choose not to play. Or to play once every two months, or whenever.

I dont have the screenshots as I had deleted my SWG folder which contained the screenshots. Really had no need in keeping the screenshots anymore.
Also, Jedi are becoming very very common now. Go to imagedump.com and type in Jedi. Take a look. I know there was at least 6 others I knew personally on Starsider that was Jedi (personally, as in, people I knew wayyyyyyyy before we were Jedi)
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion dekron and I am not flaming anyone for hating it, they can hate whatever the heck they want, its just that so much of it gets old. And don't even throw the fact that people getting angry over people hating it is thrown around all the time because it simply isn't. I could care less on what people like. Doesn't matter to me a bit, its just that we get the idea that you hate the game. Giving pointless reasons and making up stuff that probably never happened to you in the first place. I would be willing to bet that well over half the people that bash it tried it for a week and gave up on it. Do you want to know why the game is so buggy in reality, its because 70% of the beta testers did not submit bug reports. 30% only, the other 70% were playing it to try it. Bottom line. And again I say, I don't look down on anyone for their opinions.
Well, I still play SWG for right now, but if I make it into the World of Warcraft beta, considered my account cancelled. SWG had so much more potential then what we were given it makes me want to puke. On top of that they did this while setting the standard of a 15 bucks a month to play a MMORPG now (notice how all the others are uping their prices since SWG). The game looks good, the fact that you are not stuck with a profession with a character is very nice. But, the negatives totally out number the positives. Unbalanced PvP, broken quest, broken professions, constant nerfs of things that should not be (the XP nerf for the CH was uncalled for), the methods to make a Jedi is uninteresting, the cut throat economy makes it damn near impossible for a newbie to enjoy the game without the aid of a very generous person, and there is nothing to quest for at all. The fact that WoW is not out yet and that my guildmates are totally cool keeps me in the game, but most of my guild plan to move to WoW anyway so SWG is only going to get a few more months of my hard earned cash for this graphical chat room (that's all I basically do in the game now these days).
I played for two months and I think it was about 3 weeks too much. If it wasn't for the PA I was in, I'd have left earlier.
To me, the game just wasn't very... Star Wars-y. Just did'nt have the atmosphere. Sure it had some of the characters but that's not enough.
Oh well, hopefully in a year SOE will stop pandering to the powergamers and make the game fun again instead of the ultimate level grind treadmill it is now.

Hence why I revised the poll.
There really isnt a debate on what "sucked" about it most, due to the conclusion that it lead.
Now is a time of acceptance and closure.
