23k concurrent right now. Not looking too good on Twitch either. They gave all the goodies and promotion to the "bigger" streamers on Twitch who left them high and dry a long time ago.
Amazon have another MMORPG other than LA out right now?
Seriously I think long term NW has the potential to be a far better MMORPG than LA, it just depends on what the development team decided to do, they have mostly made questionable decisions in my eyes. That potential is still there but and this speaks to what Kaligold said, do we now live in a social media age which ensures there is no come back from such a poor launch?
The world and some of the systems in this game are sound, but the problem is the game lacked direction during development, with them trying to create something that would cater to the streamers and their crowd - as a result they ended up with a mish mash of a game that doesn't quite hit the mark. They have a chance of a come back, with enough time and proper development going forward, but Amazon does not have a good track record for supporting their games, so... we shall see.

Still 50k peak at prime time. Don't exaggerate the downfall either.

Sadly, that development team seems unable to fix what really needs fixing. As I said in my post on the NW forum, I'll be back in the blink of an eye if they stop megacompanies from being able to become filthy rich (and sell gold for real money) thanks to the efforts of everyone else on the server.

Well this is a legit complaint/suggestion... also... in the same wheel...
I've only participated in a handful of PvP faction action sieges... and I was very very lucky to actually do that vs many who begged and never got in (I was on discord, and toe'd the major guild(s) line).
Yes, I've seen people/character's booted from faction warfare... it was nasty.
But we discussed here, prior to release, a super exclusive 50 v 50 player dominance for server control... out of 2 thousand on a server... this was anti pvp and pve.
its not really the concurrent you need to look at but sales to new players. New world is bouncing around 350-750 range rank on steam. It bounces around such a large range because it only takes a couple of sales to move the needle at such low volume.
in contrast a good game, like Valheim, is still top 50 after a year. Other ancient mmos are still in the 200's range.
so customers heading out regularly and little new blood coming in. They will continue contracting as long as sales are in the shitter.
People still think this game is going to make a come back LOL. I suppose 6 months and 95% loss of concurrent players is still not enough evidence for some people to see this game is in a death spiral.
The fanbois were all saying this game would be a massive success after 6 months. Doesn't seem to have panned out. I suppose there is still a few weeks left to see if they will hit the 1mil concurrent mark again like they predicted.
I guess they are waiting for an expansion so when there is a small bump they can try to claim victory.
I remember the 500k concurrent and holding steady...

It is immensely frustrating to give up on this title.
It did quite a few things really well and there doesn't seem to be much interesting going on elsewhere. (Lost Ark is asian trash). I was hoping it was going to be something I'd play for years - so yeah, it is so very tempting to keep hoping the next expansion..... maybe.... please get it right.
Consider this: The game has plague doctor masks for cryin' out loud. How do you lose players when you've got that? These are the 3rd best item in all of history that people developed to wear. Gah.
NW had the potential, with that new setting changing from medieval, and the utterly awesome immersive world, to be the next big thing... and it fails only because of a totally incompetent content team.
They did an awesome winter event, so they CAN do good things.
My opinion is still that this game needs monthly content patches with a story, like Asheron's Call. The world they created screams for this !
And for fuck's sake... remove the ability to use town gold for a guild leader's own interest... make it so that town money can only be used to maintain a town.

Agreed 100% re: the exclusive 50 v 50 thing. I am not a huge PvPer, but I enjoyed jumping into random world PvP groups in random games like Warhammer Online in the past, and had fun doing it. Could not believe in when I learnt about NW's PvP system, and how hard it is to actually get into a group. Had a friend who ran one of the larger guilds on one of the servers, and even her had trouble getting into a group. People were super elitist about it, was very offputting. Filthy soloing casuals like myself wouldn't stand a chance.
PvE missed the mark too, especially with their dungeons, and having to farm and craft single use keys to get in. Having experienced dungeons in a bunch of other games, and knowing the elitist nature of some folks... Again, filthy soloing casuals like myself wouldn't stand a chance.

Yea I do.. Because prime time is usually when EU is all playing still. If you look at the US servers they are empty af imo.
No you don't. Prime time is the time when the game has the highest population.
And nice new troll account...
