So, we cant be trusted to talk about sexual harassment, but death and war are fine? Alrighty then.

Maybe now they'll stop making Russian everything the most overpowered bullshit in all of their games. Doubt it though.

I think you may have missed the point here. The article wasn't about war and death. It is about how a company is putting its employees' safety ahead of profits. They are going well above any obligations they have to their team by not only providing financial assistance but also giving logistical support by aiding them with travel and housing.

Good for Wargaming for treating their employees like family. And shame on you for ignoring the gravity of the situation and complaining about something as trivial as unit balance in a game.

mods were banning and deleting threads on reddit about how they should block russian streamers, then the economic sanctions made that 100% the case.
you can disagree with the politics and ban the discussion, but reality is another thing. like with the whole false accusations with blizzard and cancel culture.

Good for Wargaming & good riddance to that Burkatokskiy. As this unfortunately prolongs more & more will recognize that not all Russians are Putin of course but Russians allowing Putin's actions to continue should be recognized as well.

I don't know if their Ukrainian employees are any safer, being that the company is in Belarus, which is the staging point of Russian attack to Ukraine capital, and if the money raised will even reach Ukraine at all.

Shame on me for brining up the game this article is posted under? Should be posted it in the General News section just like the Blizzard articles then.

I say shame on MMORPG.com for acting like the Blizzard lawsuits are a more taboo subject than the war in Ukraine. But, I don't want to get this thread and future ones locked, so I'll end it there.

Most people stopped caring about the blizz thing months ago, so no one cares if you can't talk about it; you should too. Move on.

I've called them out on their hypocrisy before, and they keep at it. So they're more concerned about their bottom line than they are about ethics.

If they are pro-Russian separatist you're right, and no one should give a fuck. If they are civilians who are just stuck there because of the pro-Russian separatists that sucks. Either way, no one should be pro-Russia right now, not even Russians.

People who have close relatives who live in Russia aren't necessarily free to say (or not say) what they want to, regardless of where they live and work.  If you say something that the government of Russia doesn't like, they might well take it out on your family.  The article doesn't quote what the fired person actually said, so I don't know if the firing was appropriate, but there have certainly been some calls to punish random Russians in other contexts that went way too far.

I'm also generally skeptical of firing people for comments that they made on their own outside of their job.  People should be allowed to have their own opinions, even unpopular, unreasonable, or crazy ones, without being denied the opportunity to earn a living.

Yeah, but that's the reality of this world, generally a bad idea to be quoted making comments which can embarrass one's employer, at least under their real identity.

It is interesting, because in nearly 50 years there is only one type of person that I have ever known that complains about "canceling"...

Coincidentally it seems those same people either outright support Russia, or low key passive aggressively support Russia.

Some people are determined to show the world how little the world should care about them.

i feel the "west" will get the short end of this stick. Its in full aggressive psychopath mode. Just keeps pushing and pushing and now that there's some pushback its all victim status, cancelling, deleting and destroy.

liberals only see the pushback and condemn that. They never seem to be able to see all the mischief that lead up to it.

the west is a classic psychopath. Its days are numbered.

His response was more a rhetorical question of 'Why aren't the comments disabled on this thread?' like they are disabled on the Activision Blizzard Gets a Win as Judge Lets EEOC Settlement Move Forward article. I thought it was a good point.
On another note, I don't particularly appreciate every company on the planet having some kind of political stance. I don't like my chicken sandwich to make a statement for me when I eat it, or for my games to get involved in the politics of war.

To answer the rhetorical question, the site has previously stated they will shut down certain threads / topics from the git go because past history has shown they devolve into shit shows which certainly was true of the Blizzard threads.

This one has stayed open surprisingly long.

I think all the Pro-Bush and the other Bush and Pro-Obama and Pro-Clinton and the other Clinton people should be losing their jobs as well. It's only fair, right? Ah sorry, I forgot we live in the Neverlands.

I applaud the company helping out their employees in the Ukraine as best they can, but are we expecting everyone who is Russian to condemn what has happened? Social media's creation of taboos, which cost people their jobs is very worrying in my eyes.

Wargaming is a Russian game somehow i doubt they will actually do anything to help more like poppularity stunt . Look at us we support the people of Ukraine but in reality we can say anything we like and there is no way you can verify it ! Furthermore if you listen to Russian state media their army is also liberating the opressed Ukrainian people there is no war going on!

Too late. I hear people in some European countries being threatened with jailtime for having their own (differing) opinion on this matter. Dont know if its true or not but wouldnt surprise me at all as we all descend into the darkness.

You cannot expect every Russian to act against Putin.  Many people believe in him and naturally there will be a 'Go Team' response from many.  However, you can help people who do want to act or voice their opposition to find ways and encouraging ways to do it.

In the same idea, I don't like the anti Russian sentiments against Russian gamers in some of the games I play.  Chances are ...chances are...that the people playing games are the least likely to be attacking Ukraine.

Finally, Glory to Ukraine, and I support your cause as best I can from an ocean away.
