Excuse me "No RGB" is a Con? That's a Pro!

I will probably stick with getting a new Basilisk (V3) this year, I used to be a Viper man but the little ledge you put your thumb on seems to give you ultra steady aiming. The extra weight is not really an issue, but if you don't get a Basilisk get a Viper.

Reminds me of my  golf caddy days.  Most of the "older" men who could afford to buy Ping irons weren't really good enough to realize any extra benefit from using them.

I suspect it will be pretty much the same situation with a mouse like this.

I use the Basilisk at work and love it. Infinity scroll is life.

No RGB is a huge pro.

Con: $150 for a pretty standard 5-button wireless mouse.

Con: Razer... had 4 or 5 devices from them through the years and never had one last more than a year. I'll stick with my logitech peripherals which have been bulletproof in general. I had their original wireless gaming headset and the battery died on it, but other than that I'm still running all the logitech peripherals I've bought over the years.

It's a feature on the Basilisk on the Logitech G502. You click a button and the mousewheel unlocks to spin on a bearing and scroll super fast.

My Logitech 604 has the same feature, great mouse for gamers like me who can't discern too many side buttons with their thumb.

Like baby bear's pooridge the 604 has just the right amount of buttons, 6 larger, well spaced left side buttons two on top left plus standard 3 including the scroll wheel.

Does it still require their heavy software to be installed? Been really turned off over the last couple year being required to install these vendors control centers just to use a device.

This mouse looks tiny. I feel most mice are made for people with little hands. Best and longest lasting mouse I ever owned was a Logitech G5. Beyond only having one side button it was perfect for me. I've tried many mice since; and the closest I've come is G502SE, it's still not perfect though, I feel it's too squat. Logitech discontinued MX518, which was close in design. I think you can pick them up on clearance at Bestbuy for $27 now. Might need to buy a few as surplus for when the G502 dies.

I only use Logitech. They last for me, and more importantly, they are designed for an adult, male and not a child.

That said, I used a $40 mouse on a 3$ mouse pad back when I played competitive fps. In Day of Defeat (if anyone remembers that game) I beat ... everyone. Perhaps at todays resolutions some of the range of these new specs matter. Mostly though, I imagine it's primarily marketing mumbo jumbo.

It's an mmo mouse for any type of gaming for me now. At work I have a wireless MX Master 3 Logitech. Great for work due to it's extremely long battery life, and magnetic wheels. I wish my G600 had mag wheels. Logitech really needs to update the design.

My general rule: never buy Razer.

I can get annoyed whenever I look at my task bar and see icons for video-card, mouse and keyboard software running. But they are really useful. All you need for Razer is Synapse but it does think you need Cortex, if you don't have something else boosting speed you could use Cortex.

That's fighting talk, I will see you at dawn with your seconds, you will be presented with a Logitech, I will take the Razer. May the best man and mouse win. :)

I'm using an off-brand style MMO mouse that works as well as any I've ever owned.

12 side buttons for MMORPGs, an extra top button in addition to the left/right and mousewheel click.

Comes with its own app to set up variable DPI with up to 5 presets.  Can also macro bind the individual keys to whatever keystroke or combo you like.

Think I paid like $40 for it.  So good I got one for my GF and brother.  We all use it!  Think it's called Venus something or other, I'd have to check.
