SoE recent blunder

I am a fan of many of SoE products and speak well of EQ2 as many know.

But like I always promised i will say things as they are .

Recently Planetside celebrated its 3rd year of launch with an ongoing event .This is proving to be one of the most lack lust events ever in the game.

But for the server of werner it proving to be even more of a disaster.

Enter SoE CSR!

On werner there is a new CR5 called roamcell who is generally disliked for his arrogance and ignorance.His solo purpose is to counter act any decision the other CR5 have given and cause mass confusion and leads to recently lots of battles been lost on the VS(almost a new record of loses).

He runs an outfit called BOOM which has nearly only people who play for free and are locked on the BR6.Most are new to the game and just follow whatever their leader aka Roamcell says.

He recently got into a shouting match with another CR5 in an established outfit called FAnG(note the small n) that been around for over 2 years.

He got his outfit to mass appeal this guy and his outfit .Lazy SoE CSR did not even bother to check that all the appeal was from one outfit and got the guy banned and the name of the outfit changed to REnAME.

Reason for the outfit name change?That is referered to an insultive way to call homosexuals!Yes FAnG=FAG to the CSR!

Matters get worse.The outfit leaders appeal this on the forum in a civilized way and get their posts deleted and subsequently banned.

Ingame ,there is mass unsubscribing of veterans (aka paying customers) from not only the VS side(but a good majority from them) but all sides due to the poor events and awful CSR.

I am in a different otfit but this guys were the backbane aka special forces of VS and their lose has crippled the side.

All this because of one abnoxious player and CSR laziness to read properly!

I post this because this is the height of poor CSR shown by SoE.

Reason i kept this on general forum is because this is becoming as a norm amoung SoE games nowdays.CSR is at an all time low .

The only game getting any descent support from the SoE stables is EQ2 and to a smaller extent EQ1.

It seems as if they have kept the rest of their games on life support espically in the field of CSR.

I know i am a fan of EQ2 and will say this game plays and is run so unlike the rest of SoE games.

You have to wonder why SoE let all the rest game die a slow death

    Yeah but like i said weird as it seems the EQ2 CSR is actually pretty good.Makes you wonder .

    look out, there's a fanboi out there that might post "this is getting old", when you slam SOE.

    could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

    Not really... SWG and EQ and EQ2 and Planetside have their own teams.  Entirely separate from one another.  SWG has always been the red headed stepchild of the bunch.  EQ, EQ2 and PS are actually pretty well managed.

    How dare you say something bad about Soe. Admit it your really a Swg refugee arent you. Hehe, most people here dont understand the hatred of soe, they think its just what they did to our game. Personally i had dealing with several of there cr's and dev in more than one game. Never met a ruder and more unhelpful group in my life. Complain more than once you get the ban, both on forums and in game. I cancelled my eq2 account at the same time as my swg and in all likelyhood will never go back.

    Happened on my server and there is loads of posts about this on the offical forum despite many been deleted.

    Biased?I play EQ2 lol and have often rated it as the best mmorpg post 2001!

    Would love to see an official statement about this. hercules is no SOE troll though so I believe it until disproved lol hilarious. Poor old Planetside.

    SoE is a COMPANY, they're there to make MONEY not pick SIDES in some online pre-pubescent teenage pi$$ing contest.

    And no. A 30 year old with rent to pay did not disband your guild just because he felt like it. It was prolly against some kind of naming policy to keep their company from getting sued.

    This is America, you can't say boo to anybody without getting sued for violating someone's civil rights.

    I know at your age losing a guild is just about the end of the world, but trust me you'll get over it.

    Not my outfit.Server is european.You pay rent i pay mortage.

    Post is about how poorly CSR is to not even notice the small "n" in FAnG.

    Lots of posts on the offical PS forum about it.

    Wow you just made yourself look really stupid.  Did you even bother to read what he typed?  Obviously not, just from looking at the trash you posted.  My suggestion is you go back, and read it again.

    To OP:  Damn that's really messed up.  Like many others though.  I will say it just goes to show.  Even though SOE might have different CSR for each game.  You generally get the same treatment.

    Renaming happens all the time in every game. If you offend someone (whether you think so or not) you will have to to rename no matter what game you play.

    I am more than willing to bash SOE, but in this case I am with them.

    They just got pointed out to them that a guild was named "Fag", which, in all honesty, could mean cigarette, but in america is a slur against homosexuals. Now... No, do not come with the "Fang thingie again, the "n" was deliberate in a small letter to point out the "Fag". The guild leader knew this, it was delibrate by him to get that effect, and when SOE got that pointed out to them, they acted. Here the story could have ended, and the guild would have moved on with a new name.  Or.. kindly asked to change they appointed name into somehting nice, but nonabusive.

    They clearly did not. You do not get banned from a forum by saying "Pretty please, can I have a new name instead?" Not even SOE ban for that.. Believe me, I should have been  banned from two of their betas in five seconds flat if that was the case, I give them hell if things are wrong. So.. to be banned from forum, he went out of line...

    I am really sorry, I would gladly bash SOE.. but this is not such a case.

    Personally I'll stop bashing SOE when they file for bankruptcy. Thanks for your concern though.

    And if warning other fellow gamers about SOE's foul intentions isn't informative then I really don't know what is.

    Well, a large portion of SOE CS is outsourced from India these days - or at least that's what the guides in EQ2 said.  Many of the GMs are from over there, too; and I've noticed that some of them don't actually understand english.  When you talk with them, they just parrot the exact same phrases that they've been taught, over and over again. 

    Since they don't fully understand the language, it's no wonder that they make mistakes such as that one...

    Griefing is alive and well.  And it needn't be confined entirely inside of the game.  In a sick and twisted way, it's important that there are people like this around because they point out out the exploits and flaws not necessarily in the game, but in the management of the game.  In short, they let everyone see what's wrong so it would be (in theory) more likely to form a better solution.
