Well I promised in a thread in the general forum I would answer this thread.

But after watching this video there isnt much to say. Apparently the game is still in development. Other than that they showed micro progressions like rain and traded  many buzzwords. They really loved the "production level quality" one.

I guess it only remains to hope that this game will one day actually release.

The leaves on the trees seemed to be high on drugs. They were moving so violently in every shot.

I must say this even as it has been pointed out before that the graphics have a very plastic look about it. Like you have put saran wrap on the surfaces.

I personally think the graphics are good enough.  My biggest concerned is the gameplay.  What I would really like to see is some progress to alpha then to beta.  There is a point they need to get this ball moving.

This turtle needs to get moving.  Or maybe they are the hare?  Does the turtle beat the hare? I don't know but whatever they are they need to get moving.

Once you dig deeper you can see they bought some asset pack for Unity. Some of the videos are just the showcases developed by the asset pack creator.

So because of this the trees are just reacting to a standard Unity windzone. They haven't developed a new wind system for other assets, it's just the Unity trees shader.

This is turning into another crowdfunding disappointment, although the longer it goes on the less, I find I care, probably not a good thing since I was their target audience.

We have Pantheon development going over 8 years, Camelot Unchained is over 9 years, Star Citizen is almost 10 years.

I think the biggest takeaway from these crowdfunded MMORPG’s is that the big bad publishers with their project managers who were always *hampering / stifling* the developer’s vision and forcing them to release games too early are a necessity.

The only thing worse than a game being released too early is one that never releases. (At least before their target audience ages out or expires).  :#

Amen to that! When this game started out I had 10 fingers, a job, and could run. now I have 8 working fingers, 1 1/2 just for looks fingers, am disabled permanently, and can only walk for 10 min or less before body gives out.

Someone needs to get in there and whip it....whip it good!

Sorry to hear about your physical issues, I still have all my body parts which mostly still work, but my memory is a different story.....

Wait, what were we talking about again?

Well ... I dont really care about graphics.

Dont get me wrong - I'd love to get a seamless world with realistic viewing distances back, as it was in Vanguard. Even if Vanguard technically still had three levels - Thestra, Kojan, and Qalia each have been their own level. And the transition between the areas could have been smoother. But ultimately if the game itself works I can live with levelbased.

And otherwise, if I could get a good game, I can live with subpar graphics. I also still for example play my old games, like Vampire Bloodlines.

Is it safe to say that this game isn't going to happen? I don't know what kind of hopium is even keeping this project going (if you can even call it a project at this point). Anyone remember how the game was going to *release* in 2017? Here we are in 2022 and still no alpha. I mean seriously. I'm a huge EQ and Brad fan but this project has been a meme for a while. Maybe it's trying to give Duke Nukem Forever a run for it's money.

I still get the dev letters and links to videos but I don't bother reading or watching that stuff anymore. Hard to get excited about any of this. There is just no meaningful progress on this game to be excited anymore. Very sad that Brad's final project will go out with this prolonged whimper but I guess that's symbolic of the MMO genre these days. A lot of talk, hype and PR with not much substance.

Hey, they are neck in neck with CU and Star Citizen in terms of working towards a release date, so no reason to write them off as dead yet.

Definitely one of those that moved into the active following, into forget about it until it's much closer to release.
