they arent doing enough with companions, swtor did it better like 10 years ago
And what happened to that game? Oh right it's dead....
Companions there are just as generic as ESO, best ones are the ones you get early in your 1-50 playtime of course.
But even the ones who are romanceable, once you've done all the conversations and quests, they all end up the same, at beginning, as if you just met them, almost not any different than the mini-pets...

A game which was launched 11 years ago and has a 24 hour peak of 7500 is not dead, but it is low. But I don't think the ES is doing so much better because of how they handled companions, that's the crux here.
