The 'bazaar' does seem bizarre to me when it says the game + dlc already costs $150 according to steam. Steep buyin for someone new to me.

I do find it curious they chose to chase a live service style of monetization in a sandbox title that has a relatively limited game loop, supported in longevity at this point by private servers and  modding.

Yeah, I get it. Its why I don't have any interest to get into EU4 or other 4x titles. You're paying $300 for an experience.

As a Conan player with over 6k hours, you can totally enjoy the base game. The expansions are largely cosmetic for new building pieces, armor and weapons.

Then you got the different ways to play. The 'story', base building, pvp or RP. You don't need expansions for any of those things, except Isle of Siptah if you want that map.

I don't mind that Conan is doing this new method to keep their developers paid and fed. I'm more concerned about FOMO practices when it comes to an in game market. We'll see how they do.

Bazaar.  I was thinking player to player trading, but it isn't.  It's just a name for their new cash shop.  I was flummoxed about how player trading would work, since everything can be done by everyone, as long as they have the correct DLC.  And Admin mode would make it far too easy to blow the economy to bits.

Now if they would add the ability to actually trade items in-game rather than just leave them on the ground, CE could make a good platform for RPing.

Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.

Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics.

Well - with these challenges and the Battlepass stuff you can earn, the end game might be a little more rewarding :)
