wow, just wow. You really are desperate, arent you? If that is all the negativity you can come up with, then
a) DF is the best thing since sliced bread
b) you really need to develop your reading skills
either way, it doesnt make DF look any worse so gg
"For the record, (and just because this has been burning my ass too) during that entire interview I'd be surprised if we had even one future tense expression and that would probably be in the context of what players might do when the game is out.
Everything we talked about is in the game right now, and in every interview we gave we specified when something was not." -Tasos, Darkfall developer
I don't really know what your talking about. maybe you need to turn off "fanboy mode" for a little while.
"and in every interview we gave we specified when something was not."
I am sorry but this is very untrue. they usually give interviews once ever so many months and hardly ever mentioned anything like that in any of them. like it or not this game looks a LONG WAY from being completed.

im afraid you confused lack of patience for idiots, to fanboism. There is a difference you know.
I meant you trolling three threads here without any even remotely intelligent to say, and thats not criticism but idiotism.
And once again youve managed to make a completely useless post, without a single fact. Here's a tip, provide some facts while you troll, makes you look less stupid. Either that, or go back to mourning or some other scam game.
well i don't really knoiw what facts you want. the facts are all there really. and the facts are that there really has never been anything solid released about the game over 3 years or so. I am just here to play games not be a fanboy with wool over his eyes.

Its simple really, if you want to make a point, provide something that backs that point. Spouting shit out of your mouth is fine as long as you have something to show. Again, im not a blind fanboi. If the game turns out to be just empty promises, im gone in a blink of an eye.
3 years? Well MMO's take a looong time to develop, it took WoW 5-6 years to get to beta and EVE 6 years to launch. So 3 years? thats nothing.
Darkfall is NOTHING like Dark and Light first off. Second off I think its hilarious how people scream vaporware and my god this game is never coming out blah blah. Take one look at shadowbane. Case closed. You dont rush an MMO. EVER.
Ya, I thought that Darkfall was vaporware at first... but that was before the E3 show.
You've got to forgive nooblers that think Darkfall is vaporware. They just don't know as much about the game as we do.
Some people think that Darkfall is vaporware just because it's got a huge list of impressive features that have never been put into a single game but doesn't have any proof of concept. Sure, that's vaporware to some people. To me that's a work in progress. We're not talking about making a typing tutor. We're talking about a MMO.. a MMO in progress.
Just relax people. The game has been in beta testing for 3 years now. It takes time to develop a MMO. You'll see.
Check out some of the E3 articles, nonbelievers. This is no Dark and Light.
Now let's all take a deep breath and get back to talking about the game's features.
I'm going to be an Alfar, a bat-like humanoid that can't go outside in the sunlight.
If the game was vaporware, or wasn't far in production, they wouldn't have gone to E3 to search for North American distributors for their game. The game has actually only been under serious development for 3 years, at least that's what the developers are saying. What I mean that they have only had a significant dev team working on the game for 3 years, before that it was just a bunch of guys putting together ideas about their dream game. The problem was that they released information about the game while it was just mostly in the form of ideas, and there were only 4 people on their dev team. Most dev teams won't release information about their game until it is into serious production. This mistake that the Darkfall devs made now gives the illusion that the game has been under development for an extremely long time, when it is simply not true.

Seriously, go read some quotes that are still relevant. Darkfall has been in development for 3 years, not beta testing for the last 3.
Alfar, a batlike humanoid that can't go out in the sun? Alfar are Dark Elves, and they most certainly can go out in the sun, that is rediculous.
Go to the http://forums.darkfallonline.com/index.php and actually learn about the game. Reading ancient warcry quotes and getting hyped about for all the wrong reasons is a poor move.

GB: It's been nearly two years since we talked to you last, so can you give us a quick summary of where you stand in the development of Darkfall?
Claus: We have come a long way since the first Gamebanshee interview. Back then we had the four guys in a basement, now we have a team of 20 people working hard on finishing the game. We also moved country, from a basement in Oslo, Norway to modern offices close to the Olympic stadium in Athens, Greece. We all have a nice tan now.
Darkfall is entering closed beta testing in September this year. The closed beta is fully playable, with most core features implemented. We will be adding features and content during closed beta, while we gear up for the next beta stages.

They do not want to be pigeon-hold into what they might let something slip during an interview. I am looking forward to this game someday (hopefully soon) and a fully playable beta is just odd to finally hear...

Listen here you jackass. Darkfall is not, and has not ever been in a beta stage.
Jonric: What is Darkfall's current status, when do you expect it to launch, and how much has it evolved during its extended development period of more than four years?
Tasos Flambouras: We're preparing for beta testing as we speak; you can apply on this page of our website. It's a huge job, and we want it done right. The start of the beta is affected by multiple variables, and not just development ones. The same goes for Darkfall's launch date. Once we have a date that we're reasonably sure of, we'll announce it immediately. The additional time taken to work on the game was a decision made in an effort to make Darkfall directly competitive with the largest MMOG titles out there. Nobody is going to feel they've stepped down by switching to Darkfall, or play Darkfall as an alternative to their main game. ______________________________________________________
NOVEMBER 2005!
They were preparing to enter the beta not more than 7 months ago you stupid fuck!
They did in fact cancel beta way back when and if you had spent more than 5 minutes reading ancient quotes you might have known.

Your quote from 2005 doesn't trump mine from 2003. They both talk about Darkfall beta. Obviously there's some kind of miscommunication since the 2005 quote doesn't mention the ongoing beta. Tasos probably didn't realize that Darkfall has been fully playable with most features implemented since 2003.
Even if Darkfall isn't in beta it has still been fully playable with most features implemented since late 2003. That's a long time to have a fully playable game with most of the features implemented to remain in Alpha.
Darkfall is probably in secret internal beta testing with a strict NDA so that Blizzard and SOE can't steal their ideas.
It's pointless to argue about what they call their testing phase. We should spend our time talking about game featuers.
I read that the world will be so big that you could walk in one direction for hours upon hours and never run into another player.

I would love to play the game, but it looks like its all smoke and mirors.
So far darkfall is dark and light(or is it sog? :P ).
If you think that Darkfall looks good now you should have read the interviews they did back in 2001-2002.
Don't forget that beta is coming, soon. They even had people sign up for it.
I couldn't find Darkfall listed on Amazon. Anyone know where I can preorder?
