A second alpha test begins tomorrow for Palia. Previous alpha testers will be invited back and new players will see invites coming throughout this weekend.

    I'm assuming this game will be more like "My Time at Portia" where it does have combat but the life skilling is the main focus.

    The most confrontational aspects their site mentions are fishing and bug catching. I see no reference to combat whatsoever for now or into the future. It seems to not be intended.

    Yeah, there's combat but it's centered around hunting. But the game is primarily focused on crafting and cooperative town building.

    Already plenty of games out there where people can kill each other. Not everyone enjoys that and they deserve games for them as well.

    True, I've played MMOs with combat for years , but when I want to chill and craft I found A Tale in the Desert to be enjoyable.

     I do not mind there is no combat. I was actually surprised it's still played by a few thousand people. It's not super packed or popular but It fills an obvious niche for some types of players, sorta like Palia may. The same could be said about second life, it obviously fills niche for some folks, hence why it's been around for years. Maybe they hope this game will be one of those.

    If true, then that's a huge downgrade. I just hope it looks like that because it was taken on a potatoe
