It doesn't seem like the Dragonflight alpha has been up for five weeks already, but we'll be closing out the fifth week when this column is posted. Robin talks about the latest zone, as well as recapping the alpha over the course of the last five weeks.

Dunno - nothing about this expansion compels me to buy it. Who’s the main villain? Why are we going there at all? What does the new dragonflyibg do apart from flying?

Not sure how folks spend weeks testing an expansion without the expansion feeling pretty stale when it finally releases, but God love them for doing it for the rest of us.

    Thanks for the preview!

This may not be the final boss, but I believe it is going to be a major boss based on what I've seen.

All of those questions, and more, would likely be answered by playing the expansion.

I totally get that... at the same time I'm actually happy to be going into an expansion with no obvious bad guy to defeat. Leaves more to discover through playing and to build the whys through gameplay. That's something we've been missing for awhile.

Looking forward to my next vacation in Azeroth once this launches :)

The graphics are starting to look like Perfect World Classic and how it looked in 2006. I'm talking about the overbright sky and bloom effects that make everything lush and oversaturated.

F2P Asian MMORPGs looked like this 17 years ago.

As for WoW and the upcoming expansion, I stopped being excited about Retail WoW and expansions when Cataclysm released and changed the game so much that it stopped being WoW anymore and became something completely different that just used the name "WoW" and kinda remotely resembled it.

For me this is a completely different game and I don't understand who even likes it and plays it. I'm starting to think that whoever still pays for Retail WoW and has been playing since Vanilla is in a really dark place right now where they can't let go of the old that no longer exists and are too afraid to try something different, not new, different. Because there are plenty of MMORPGs that are already 5-10 years old or more that are pretty good and deserve a second look.

That's pretty much my impression of people who say they don't care about a game anymore and don't understand why anyone would spend time on it, but still feel the need to post comments stating that fact. It must be a dark sad place for people who feel the need to always tell people they have no interest in something but still feel the compulsion to go to content about the thing they don't like. Also, bold of you to assume people who play WoW don't play any other MMOs.

LOL you must be new here.

Most comments about WoW are people shitting on it that have never played it or haven't played it in over 10 years but still must let everyone know how much they hate WoW at every opportunity.

That fact, doesn't change how sad it is to engage in that type of behavior.

I'm enjoying hearing about the dragon flying. The landing being more reflective of speed and the sound would give a great feel to it, here's hoping they address it.

I'm sceptical of the expansion, like many I suspect. However I will be jumping in on release with my buddy, gambling our time and money on whether it's good lol. Fingers crossed.
