World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic will open up its first Fresh Start servers after the pre-patch arrives on Tuesday, August 30th. Both EU and NA will get one PvP realm with previously-announced special rules

To me "classic" is vanilla Period
Kinda wish they had redone the entire game using mostly/modified classic vanilla rules and mechanics, for those who enjoyed "classic" WoW but stopped playing coz they were turned off by "modern" WoW - as it stands it's not really a "classic" branch of the game, rather just new servers with delayed timed releases. It is pointless to play this since if you like modern WoW, you would be playing modern WoW anyways, and if you don't like modern WoW, then... well, you know what classic WoW will become in a couple of years.
Desperate people trying to recapture their youth by playing this need to stop giving Activision the Grifters more money for lazy grifts like this or every official expansion released after WoTLK. It's desperate people that keep Activision thinking that they can milk WoW until the last WoW player dies of old age.

So you better play on private servers rather than official? Well , good thing is that we can chose where to play, right?
Anyway, calling this "a joke", but at the same time, sending people to play the same version but on private servers where things might go wrong is pathetic.

Last time I cchose a RP-PVP server, and it ended up being overrun by toxic maga types.
The only way I was gonna coem back was for a fresh start RP server, as far from the trolls as possible. Oh thank god, they already Negged "Base don feedback... we will be launching two servers" and one of them is Normal. Thank god. I will take it.
As if things never go wrong on official Activision servers... At least on private servers you don't pay premium price to get screwed over. Vanilla Classic is already dead and they have merged all the servers into one, TBC Classic is almost dead, now it's time to milk WoTLK Classic for some good 6-12 months and then scrap that one too.
Yeah, I'd better play on a private server. The last one I've played on is still around and has been since 2011 with 10,000+ daily population and even queues, never paid a dime, still having awesome fun. I only paid 3 months for Vanilla Classic in 2019, thinking it was going to be a better experience than playing Vanilla on a private server, biggest regret ever. I don't even regret buying ESO and a few chapters full price as much as I regret few measly months on Activision rather than free on a private server.
Remember, paying for the real thing doesn't mean you're righteous or morally dignified, it makes you for the most part ignorant and hapless.

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

There are a lot of people that haven't done it all before, and not everyone enjoys the changes the later expansions bring. Also , wow retail and classic tbc may be the same universe, but retail has changed enough to be almost a different game.
