    Just the usual sleazy way and desperation tricks to get people back and subscribe.

    As for many of these there is literally no reason to remove them. Just the same ol' same ol' trick to try get people come back before each new expac.

    Never thought I'd see the day where I was more excited about a New World expac than a WoW expac, but here we are.

    I think the core issue is that they usually do this, which isn't a surprise, only to add them again later as something 'new,' similar to how they eventually caved on re-adding the mage tower (and even when they originally tried to re-add it, they tried to make it limited time only to walk back on that too due to backlash). It is like you say, they could avoid this stuff entirely by not removing it but this has been the same team that likes to make problems so they can focus on developing solutions instead of new content.

    The Mage Tower did return but not the Artifact weapons. The new Mage Tower just gives recolors of an old tier set.

    More MMOs should do this. Have some things only available for a limited time.

    The people that complain about this stuff are the people that either can't do the content that gives this stuff or just want another reason to shit on a game they don't play.
