I'm interested in seeing what everyone here would like to see in an MMO. Things you would like to see left out etc etc. Based on your experience with previous games what did you love and hate etc.
I think the first thing I look for is simplicity. I don't want a game that is so complex that I have to spend hours upon hours learning the basics. I want a game that also has decent graphics, though they are not the most important thing. The game needs to have a good story, or at least one that is consistent and makes sense. The game should always have something to do. Perhaps allowing multiple characters from the same account would be nice. It should also have a PvP environment - clans/guilds with a fighting area to compete to keep your group together. PKing should be an option, but not required. I think that it needs to have a good environment with plenty of diverse characters. There should be plenty of character interaction.
I only know one game that has this.. But, I'm sure there are others..
A beautiful expansive relaxing game world, player run so a dependency on non combat classes to do the daily jobs associated with running a kingdom/city/village whatever...Open classes so as to not get pigeonholed in to any one philosophy, a lot of character customization, the ability to build, destroy, upgrade anything in game be it cities, churches, transport, clothes, bridges you get the idea, also with the architecture you should have sub-classes like architect/engineer/artists that are a necesity if you wish to build, decorate, repair your possesions, so if you have a big guild/org and you want to have a new guild hall you will need to hire an architect, basically a lot of scope.
i think the single most important aspect is the world and how imaginative and expansive it is, i don't like boundaries, if you want to go out for a walk and you delve too far in too the woods, there is every possability that you could get lost, you can harvest/live anywhere treetops, fields, crypts, woodland whatever takes your fancy, if you want a pet you have to go to the trouble to find an infant/egg which could be very difficult for rarer creatures and care for it and raise it. that's about it for now... something like that.

Well thats kind of the point of this thread. Nothing out there really has it *all imo. They are all just variations of each other. So I'm hoping this thread will catch the eye of some important people out there and maybe even spawn some new ideas etc.
We have a pretty great community here so it's well worth see what everyone wants and hates.
The only game I know that has it is Astonia III. It's actually the only game I play at the moment. It is very simple, first of all. The game just lets you jump into figuring out how to do quests, but they aren't incredibly hard. It walks you through the basics with pop-up help windows. Then after level 10, it stops helping and allows you to explore and figure out the rest on your own. It is very easy to raise a character. There are many skills available to all three character classes. You can experiment with them, but it is relatively easy to figure out what you need early on. It has old graphics that look bad at first, but you get use to them. They aren't so bad because of the gameplay. The story is good. Currently, Ishtar (the creator) is still expanding and correcting a few problems, but it is an interestin plot. There is always something to do. If you get stuck at a level, you can always go do the Pentagram Quest (pents) to gain very nice experience. There are also the Never-Ending Tunnels (for every level from 10-200) as well as Random Dungeons (levels 10-99). If you get bored on one character class, you can try another character class or character build with one of your 25 characters on your account. There is a clan system that allows you to join one of 31 clans that survive off of clan jewels. These jewels are won by fighting in one of the 29 spawners of different maximum level requirements. These spawners range from maximum level 5 characters to maximum level 200. This is one of the biggest parts of the game. There is a Playerkilling option. You can PK in any dangerous zone. If you kill someone else, you can take every non-quest item. PKing is level 10+, and you may only killed/be killed by someone +/- 3 of your level. There is a good, small environment. It isn't quite as big as newer games such as WoW, but it is a great size. You get a chance to know everyone. There are people from all over the world, and it is a tight-knit group that gets along - most of the time. It is a very relaxed game that is easy to play and learn. If you have nothing to do, try the 28-day free trial. I have played for 4 years, and I am still not bored. There are still things that I have not tried.
