I haven't kept up to date with the Mourning thing, but I have been following DnL for years, and it's the biggest disappointment I have ever experienced in the development of a mmorpg. It has such huge potential that will never be realized.
I just recently saw the "new" Mourning website and decided to give it a look. Then I found out that the game is still being run by the same devs, with the same people in charge. Is this true?

lol, truly pathetic. It really doesn't surprise me. Hey atleast give them credit for not taking a whole bunch of peoples' pre-order money this time around, lol.
I don't understand why this game keeps getting revived... There must be, what, three people interested in playing it? I just can't see how these companies expect to make a profit out of it.
Originally posted by Harelin We tried to convince people. We raised enough hell on both forums to ensure anyone interested enough to the level that they'd pre-order, heard our concerns. They still pre-ordered. Many are attempting to justify it, there's even "anything to help out a fledgling MMO company" excuses. That essentially translates to "oh, that poor guy is homeless... he needs that $30 he stole out of my wallet. Let 'em go." They were educated buyers. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the show now. Like it or not, the Internet is still reality... take off your rose-colored glasses and use some common sense.
oooooooo we're back to old school 'reality tv' now~!!
could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?
I remember being one of the first ones on these forums to start questioning the validity of Mourning. I asked "What if Mourning is a scam?". I also gave reasons as to my thinking. And I got ridiculed and even flamed for saying that it might be a scam. Heh. That was back in February of 2005. Here's the link to the thread...
Seriously, take a look and read this thread and how I got attacked repeatedly for asking if Mourning was a scam and unprofessional... it's really quite amusing now looking back at it...
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
lol. Going to www.ageofmourning.com now shows that it is "parked" through godaddy.com. That gives me lots of faith that the dumb game is coming out in the very near future! I can hardly wait!! Heh.
Ya I am looking at that too. It looks like they are trying to make the game look like a different game completely again. Either that or Porno Dave took the product and gave it to someone else to try to finish it.

A few...
The rest were promised 5 months free when the game re-released before it was sold / changed around twice and now apparently has an entirely new name all together.

Oh and if any MMORPG.COM staff is watching please investigate Thrones of Chaos before adding it to the games list since it seems to be Realms of Krel, aka Realms of Torment, aka Mourning, aka, Age of Mourning.

I was sure that I had read recently on this very site, that a new developer had taken over age of morning, and that MMORGP.com was adding it once again to the mmorpg.com web site. I can't seem to find a trace of that announcement or the site. Maybe a change of heart?

Don't be so quick to assume that. We have a lot of reasons to believe that the old dev team was simply rolled over into Loud Ant software. New name, new image, same BS.
I know I read a short bulletin on this site one day mentioning that a new company had aquired Mourning, and that they were re-adding it to thier list. I imagine after the name change MMORPG removed it promptly (since is doesn't exist w/ that name anymore).
Certainly can't blame the new company (or the old if that is the case) for changing the name.

Well it came to the attention of mmorpg.com that the new owner was 17 years old or something (according to the owners own myspace site). Also on the official forums Ego was posting as the head for the future billing plans for Mourning WHILE having a "new management". So it was removed yet again
Mourning today: http://nuancedentertainment.com/ has no info at all (no links to anything, just a single page), site-news date back to Monday March 20th 2006 ...sigh.
http://www.loudant.com/ Have done something(?) (since being established in 2001), they put up some pictures in their galleries. They have links to some flash games on sony:s site but I cant find credit for the games or any info on the site to any kind of work they have done.
