SQ42 leak video

9min of footage from some internal review of last year leaked yesterday, the video is still up is worth a watch but it's on a lower resolution sadly

it's not really spoiler-warning material, a lot of environments, only at the end it has cutscenes of a large fleet battle

    Interesting looking.  A little herky jerky, and interior spaces look like they decided to save money on decent light bulbs, but still cool.  

    What level of computer equipment do you think will be needed for this to work decently?  Do they still plan on having some carry through from the SP to the MP?

    Interesting looking.  A little herky jerky, and interior spaces look like they decided to save money on decent light bulbs, but still cool.  

    What level of computer equipment do you think will be needed for this to work decently?  Do they still plan on having some carry through from the SP to the MP?

    They're the same codebase, but I expect SQ42 will be harder to run than SC, it shows to have very crafted and large locations, SC also has them but in here they're trying to dodge that empty factor of space.

    We still have gen12 that is currently implementing to see exactly the performance gains it'll manage. They also want to do stuff like raytracing on top of Vulkan so it wouldn't surprise me if SQ42 wants to release with that.


    What I know of that is that there's things that impact MP, I heard reputation boost with UEE, probably cosmetics/skins on top.

    Often single player is a bit easier to run because the devs control what you encounter, as opposed to multiplayer where a large group of players usually means a fuckton of different ships/models/skins/textures/skill effects and animations/etc.

    That is true, but that only means better performance for the player if the devs decide to not use that "budget" to throw more in there, but to me all things considered I'd say it can be a tad heavier than SC as this more the type of game of you moving from a crafted location to the next, and not exactly roaming on empty space.

    This is the game they should have focused on.  Then worked on the wider SC game.

    This is the game they should have focused on.  Then worked on the wider SC game.
    I would say it's the SQ42 focus that drags SC, the features prioritized and all that, the drag SQ42 sees is visibly this refactoring it continued to see from visuals to AI that were probably subpar to what was wanted.

    Would be really nice to see that same bishop speech on the current visual quality tho

    SQ42 didn't need everything the Star Citizen game needs.  It was pitched as a Wing Commander descendant.  They could have iterated on the engine and added all kinds of stuff after SQ42 launched. 

    At this point I just hope it launches before some of the stars die... and heck.. @Kyleran too :)
