This was one of the most overloaded microtransaction ridden games I've ever played. The core combat and talent system were excellent, the classes were really cool too, but it was so obvious they shoe horned the Luminus/constellation system to squeeze as many players dry as they can. The entire game was based around large scale pvp and it just never had the numbers for it.
A bit surprised they canned it so fast, but jesus christ it feels like just a few months ago i was playing the beta for it, cant believe its already been TWO YEARS.
I think it's good they're closing it quickly. Developers are realizing that they can no longer push out a terrible product that is crammed with micro-transactions and bad systems. Players are far less forgiving than they used to be. There's way more options and people notice a bad game when they see it.
That's part of the MMO problem because it's so hard to release something that will keep people's attention. If it fails early on, it's very likely it won't catch on. New World is hanging on by a thread as well. The last time a game started out badly and revived itself successfully was FFXIV.
Ah the "BDO Killer"
Game was boring stop making boring games
Out of the mmo world even indie games can make it big if they are fun maybe take some lessons from there and stop making generic mmos
They have no place the market is saturated
More like the Tera Killer.
Blue Hole Studios stopped development on Tera for this game and it dies a year after Tera.
Whatever MMO they have next is going to be a hard sell. Well, assuming they even bother with another MMO.

Also Tera was 100% better game than elyon when it launched Truly evolutionery for its time
It launched in 2012 in what I think of as the MMO Middle Ages, before MMOs all became selections from the same fast-food menu. It had a lot of issues for me, but I played it longer than I did BDO which is saying something.
ha you guys are all MMO noobs..
First MMO I played ( and the best ) was Asheron's Call 1 in 1999.
from 2000 to like 2010 was the golden age of MMO's and the best years....
Now it's all pure garbage.

It was not called Asheron's Call 1 though was it, just Asheron's Call.
BDO is the BDO killer ..suicide
Archlord 2005 was mine first ..not relevant to this post too as AC
Elyon and others generic generic clones .. i wish them quick death.
Make space for the one good, or better, or the one ..which is not in sight sadly.
So for now I guess we wait till SC gets out ..Godot ( not the engine, Samuel Beckett )
See you on all the other funerals for there is not much else to do. Other than lag vs player in Cyro that is.
All trash. Playing WoW now and man this expansion is EPIC! But i am also still waiting for Ashes of Creation. They may take their time to push out something epic

Always remember that Ascent: Infinite Realm (A:IR) died for this!
On the other hand, seing how they handled Elyon it's pretty save to assume A:IRs story wouldn't have been different.
Good riddance.
Ascent Infinite Realm died for this.
Tera died for this.
And if they didn't have PUBG Blue Hole Studios would have died for this as well.
They remade the game into Elyon and then they had to revamp the game because even the Koreans thought the pay to win free to play was too much at first.

Retail WoW has been trash since 2007. Ashes of Creation is going to be mediocre at best, trash at worst.

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
