Whats with the flucuation of the Game's List

Ive noticed latly that the score for a game changes without more people voting on the game! Ive been monitoring some games and Ive seen games go from 7.0 to 8.0 or 7.8 to 7.6 to 7.1 to 7.0 WHAT THE HECK? whats with this? What is honestly making this change to the games. Anyone?

I noticed the same thing mate.  I haven't got a clue what happened.

This is because we apply a curve to the list ratings (otherwise they all seem to rank around 5-6).  Apparently a LARGE wave of Eve Online fans have been voting up their game.

I am going to be making changes to the rating system and purging ratings from "fly-by" members that have only come here to rank a game (or bash others) and then leave.

That's good news. I was just commenting to one of my friends on how silly it was that every major game is ending up at 7.1 and then one game ends up on top by a landslide because of an influx of people giving bogus reviews. You might want to make it so a person has to be registered for a certain length of time before they can "review" a game. Or if you wanted to get really complex you could look for trends, like if within 2 days there's suddenly 100 votes to put a game at 10.0 and every other major game at 1.0 it could take out those votes or something.

Although it'd be nice if people could just be honest. Would also be nice if people could understand a 1-10 system. I would think that 5 would be average. Yet I see all these 2D games with crappy graphics given graphics ratings of 7+. Given games like AC2 and SWG having high-end graphics can you seriously say some Nintendo game gets a 7+ for graphics?

I was wondering that too. All of sudden EVE Online is top-notch. Well indeed it is a decent game for sure. Graphics are very nice, I just don't know if I play it yet. I may for the price that have it listed and instant download which is nice on broadband. In Fact I don't know what game I will play yet, since UXO has been pushed back and City of Heroes. Oh well I'll play Kotor! lol
