The Diablo IV team, in a new video, take us inside Sanctuary, and detail design inspirations, making things darker and scarier, as well as more dynamic and explorable. And petting the dogs.

The angle is way too top down. Even more so than any other game.
The climbing/jumping points look like they have to be clicked. Real bummer.
Still not seeing followers/mercs.

Its not that it looks bad ( although it looks very drab and repetitive ) but the fact that its built on very tired tropes. Blizzard is obviously out ideas and creativity, and is just trying to rehash what worked in ( very long past ).
But is this enough to make for a good game today? I think not. We already played D2 and POE , and Grimdawn and all the similar games. We are now getting another that looks and plays completely same ... why bother.
POE map system was fun but that didn't hook me like it has others. Maybe I'm just not in for the required grind after beating the story.
You will be bored long before max level.
Diablo 3 comes out
You: oh it looks like a cartoon. So bright and colorful. Looks like a unicorn farting rainbows. Diablo 2 was so much better
Diablo 3 team literally makes level with unicorns farting rainbows to spoof your comments
Diablo 4 releases trailer with artwork inspired by Diablo 2
You: oh it's so drab. Too much saturation. So boring to look at.
You guys are literally impossible to satisfy. Absolutely nothing the Diablo 4 team does will be acceptable to you.
So glad I'm not a game developer. I can't imagine what it's like spending years of your life working on a game trying to chase an impossibly fickle fan base. How incredibly frustrating.
Low saturation is not the same thing as Darkness. The color properties are aptly named Hue, Saturation and Brightness. What was required from Blizzard was to decrease the brightness levels of the whole thing. What they did instead is decrease the saturation of the game making everything look washed out while keeping the brightness at Diablo 3 levels. Basically now we have very bright and very desaturated game instead of a dark game with vivid colors like Diablo 1 and 2 were. We did not want a drab game, we wanted a gothic game.
mmorpg junkie since 1999
From what I have "read". The cities are fairly barren. It's not as many people as you think.
Just not hyped yet.
I'm actually more hyped for playing an extremely OP Tal Rasha Wiz in the D3 season starting in 2 days... I might just make it to solo GR 150 finally with all the insane buffs from the seasonal "altar."

I would be shocked if Blizzard has the same monetization for D4 as Diablo Immortal, we will see when the game comes out. I think they won't for D4, as they already have diablo immortal to milk the mobile gamers hard.

Kyleran on yours sincerely
'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'
Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...
'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'
Gdemami absolutely not being an armchair developer
Hopefully my 1070 can run it well.
They won't. It's a b2p game, not a f2p one. The monetization is much more confined, being an opt-in battle pass with cosmetic rewards. However, I would not be surprised for it to have purchasable expansions down the line featuring additional classes as previous Diablo games on PC have done.
Also a small correction. Diablo Immortal was not just a F2P game, it was a mobile game, aimed at that market which is heavily a pay-to-win market.
