People hate on a company like daybreak but at least they continue to patch and add real content to EQ/EQ2 every year. They would be a perfect company to acquire rift.
the original idea behind the souls was so much better, but people complained about the work it took to acquire them. Also in early alpha there was a discussion that you could level each individual soul class when you found them
I remember at one point to unlock the cabalist? you had to kill like 500 cabalists in pvp or something like that, it was a really cool concept
I would have loved if I picked pyromancer and leveled it up, then acquired a new soul and it was level 1 and so on and so on, continual progression would have been amazing

It definitely would've added longevity if they made leveling the souls separate, especially when ever class eventually got a tank and heal soul. So silly when those game out and people were so high level yet no idea how to play them, so everyone is punished.
Been playing this and realized how much I really do like this game. The Soul system had my looking at it for hours. It's such a cool system. Will say they did kind of take away super hybrid builds with the Legendary aspect of the soul tree because you are forced to put 61 points into a single soul to get legendary I believe. I'm not at level cap so I can't say with 100% accurracy. Graphics are still above it's time period. It looks a lot like Everquest in ways with how it uses normal maps for the texturing. All in all it is what is is, and I don't mind it.
Been trying every mmo under the sun too take over the massive void left by losing my Lotro account. This might be it.
the biggest problem is gamigo wants the cash in large chunks instead of actually running a micro transaction market.
One item weapon in the shop costs over $100 usd. That's is stupid. For the soul packs they was 50 usd for the entire pack. They should be 10 dollars so people who play can roll alt accounts and by them with out thinking about it.
IF people are in the games industry to get "rish" then they shouldn't be in the games industry at all, and they should be doing reality. Realitors is the big short quick cash market, not gaming.
Gaming is a slow and steady ship, push to hard and it just falls apart.
