    I think a lot of people are gun shy of playing this game due to the P2W model they had a bit ago.

    While Archeage is still P2W, Archeage Unchained is not.

    Isn't it mandatory to multi box on this game to be relevant ?

    Yes it is, you need at least 1 alt account, and preferbly 2 alt accounts. Also at minimum 12 hours a day free to play all 3 accounts. And some friends to farm dungs with a pre-made group. Otherwise might just as well not play. You will be massively behind in ~2 days.

    The gameplay loop on Unchained is just one massive timesink. I'll give them credit, they created whales without the need to over monetize and everyone who paid out in the beginning fell for it(including me).

    They made it so that only those who can dedicate as much time as possible can create a gap so massive that no one else can catch up. Or rather, contend. They essentially created p2w by allowing unlimited multi boxing and ignoring flagrant exploiters. So the whales just focused their money elsewhere, like alt accounts. And because whales typically play more as well, they can get ahead using the systems put in place to create that gap. They also made sure that the gap in power was so wide that a player who had just slightly higher gear could feel like a God. I remember 30 of us getting wiped out by less than 10 enemies, and we were all fairly well geared.

    A game that is p2w without having p2w monetization.

    what ruined the game for me was the land grab they had when they opened the servers it was so buggy only few got the land parcels that mattered

    I think the main reason why people dont play Unchained anymore is because when the transition happened, it got changed to a p2p model instead of a b2p model that it was before under Trion/Gamigo. It was stupid of them to do that but oh well.

    If you join Archeage Unchained seasonal server you can catch up the gear score of legacy server. You only need 1 alt to do other activity. Do not watch the youtube information about archeage. Most of them are obsolete. Those youtuber play archeage a year ago or they play only for an hour then logout. You don't need 2 alts or more to win the game.

    No. I have one account and have kept up just fine. Some like to have a second account for farming. I don't farm so I don't need one.

    Nope. The fresh start servers are made so you don't need this. I've never had more than one account. Maybe it's different on the F2P servers.

    Isn't that every game? I think the difference here is that there is only so much you can do before you run out of labor. You can make alts but, realistically they can also only do so much and, at worst, is $9.99 a month. And I don't know what you mean when you say whales... what will a whale do in Archeage Unchained? You can't really buy anything to make your character better.
