I'm willing to bet they're going to cancel it within a year from now. They are shooting themselves in the foot right now. Overwatch 2 shouldn't focus on adding new heroes if it is all about PvE.

Just think about it. Think about the amount of VA/Writer/Animation work for 30+ hero roster for every bit of content. Either they're going to do shitty small stories like all the PvE we've had so far or we're going to get meaningful content.

And don't get me started on the skill trees and progress they've talked about. The skilltrees in theory change the nature of the hero. Like, a hero like Genji at some point will be able to shoot projectiles through the dragonblade etc etc. that's extra animation work. Multiply this by an ever-growing roster.

I don't know why everyone expects first person shooters to add new heroes all the time. This fad is pretty stupid. It breaks balance, it causes chaos and diminishes skill. This geh climate activist hero type seems more annoying than nanoboosted Ram ult. Holy shit.

His heals are crap and his utility is ... well, just annoying.

Not only this, but why would you want to play Overwatch 2 PvE to begin with? We're about to get some pretty heavy bangers this year. Jedi Survivor, Blizzard's own Diablo 4 and plethora of other Single and multiplayer games that are just going to blow OW2 out the water and their respective teams would have to commit a lot less resources into developing. Ow2 pve as it stands makes absolutely no sense.

And well , who's the target audience for Ow2 PvE? What a colossal waste of developer's time. I wouldn't want to work in this team.

Why is it even called Overwatch 2? What does it improve over Overwatch 1?

Can it be compared to Counter-Strike 2 which actually has gameplay changes and improvements over Counter-Strike: Global Offensive? Besides, we don't know everything that's going to change about CS2, whereas for OW2, all the information is out there, it's just that Activision aren't delivering what they promised.

Eh, bad example bro. Counter-Strike isn't doing much other than upgrading the flashbang and map lighting. The netcode change looks to me more like Overwatch's favor the shooter tech. You honestly can only do so much with network. Valve seems to be trying to cut server costs by moving away from 128 tick servers to something ... I guess more dynamic ... either that or favor the shooter. Both of which are crap when there's lag, so. You can't fix lag.

But in general, yeah, <insert game name> 2 isn't what it used to be. Cs 2 is graphical update for CSGO. Ow2 is ... man the fuck I know what OW2 even is. It's trying something :D
