City State Entertainment (CSE) has posted their latest development update for Camelot Unchained, which notes many improvements to the game and its overall development status.

So Mark why is it, after Dark Age of Camelot was developed in 3 years for less than 5 million when games/hardware/internet were in it's infancy, is CU taking SO LONG to make with more money and tons more technical advancements (in the past 20+ years) along with a far larger studio than you had when originally developing DAOC during the Mythic days?
There are only 2 answers...either it's an intentional scam like COE, or it's an unintentional one now because the team is inept and can't just come out and say they can't do it. What other conclusions can be drawn when 10 years later there is no actual gameplay footage to release with these stupid updates? 10 years later we're still getting concept art only. I think Jeromy Walsh from COE is in awe of Jacob's ability to leave just enough of a breadcrumb trail not to be sued like he was. Jacobs and CU are Jeromy's dream outcome, steal people's money for 10 years straight and not get sued. Thats the different between a professional and an amatuer bullshit artist.
Of course they are. It's an MMO site. What company wouldn't want their stuff posted about status updates in order to get some 'hype' Mind, hype left this title a looonnng time ago, but they are gonna try. Thankfully, I very very rarely get excited anymore because of the delay system, which is almost an mmo feature for MMOs these days.

I mean in relation to what they were covering, I feel like this is the first time I've seen CU related news in a long while. Surely Camelot Unchained hasn't been quiet this entire time, has it?
It's been 10 years.
There is no release date in sight and they are showing more concept art.
If I had to guess I would say MJ is just milking a paycheck from whoever was dumb enough to invest in his company until that money runs dry. Which will probably happen before the game gets released and is also why there is no way he would release it. It would flop, he knows it, so he just keeps it in development forever going at a snails pace to get a paycheck.
Pretty much standard procedure for these crowdfunded games at this point. They get paid regardless of release so there is no point in releasing it.

Sure, there were more defenders around back then, but MJ hasn't visited these forums in at least 3 or 4 years now, well before the traitor game was announced in early 2020.

He got a break once Beta 1 released but by 2019 much of that goodwill wore off and the criticism mounted once more.

Again, there still were defenders of course (I miss @gdemini sometimes) but the tide was clearly turning against him so by time 2020 came it put the nail in his coffin.
In my mind not too long ago is a year or two...

You don't speak for me either, I never lost a dime to this jackass and omg, the hours of funny drama i've seen all these years has been hella funny and well worth my time reading it from my perspective
Note to future developers: If you are showing artistic renditions and not gameplay after years of development, just stop and refund everyone their money.
What is most frustrating is that all Mark had to do was essentially release a version of Dark Age of Camelot with updated graphics and some new features and it would have sold like hotcakes.
What an absolute cluster this has been and I'm irritated I supported this project.
