Steam ending support for Windows 7/8/8.1 and MacOS 10.11 ("El Capitan") and 10.12 ("Sierra")

    So that means people running these plattforms can no longer play their games.

    AFAICS Windows 7 definitely is still popular with people, especially when they're into older games.

    The upgrade to 10 is also still free and any machine that can run 7-8.1 can run 10.

    I'm also not aware of any game on Steam that requires 7-8.1 that won't run on 10.

    Any potential "issues" caused by this seem imaginary to me.

    Neither MS nor Chrome supports those old operating systems any longer.

    I mention Chrome because the Steam client is Chrome-based and that seems to be the real Impetus for them also discontinuing support.
