I wish that Star Trek Online would get revamped with newer technology preferably without all the gambling, & a Star Trek real-time-strategy game would be awesome too.

This is one IP that is in real need of a great game
Star Trek: Resurgence is getting great reviews and feedback on Xbox. It's currently sitting at 4.6/5 positive (92%) with a lot of praise saying it's a Trek game for fans.

    Distribution on ratings is:
    5 Star / 70%
    4 Star / 20%
    3 Star / 5%
    2 Star / 3%
    1 Star / 2%

That is very rare for a narrative adventure game on Xbox, especially with popular IPs because fans are so critical and typically have a very specific preconceived idea of what they want to experience.

Maybe the PC port needs work, but other than one post complaining about stuttering, performance isn't mentioned often. Also, it's only $40 and I didn't see any expensive bundle editions, which is refreshing.

I don't think that's possible given the tiny population and the fact Cryptic monetizes it.  It's the one MMO I've worked the hardest to get into but the only part I enjoyed was when they added the original series starter option.

Definitely picking this one up, have really been hoping to see a "bioware-esque" Star Trek RPG

I would buy it but I don't do Epic. If it comes to Steam eventually I'll get it if I remember and if I don't their loss thats what they get for doing a moronic exclusive.

Most of the devs worked on this game worked at Telltale that made all those great Batman games. So getting this. Think of this as more a interactive movie then a video game.

I'll pass. I've had enough social commentary the last couple years to last a lifetime. I'd prefer to keep it out of my entertainment.
What social commentary is this game pushing, if I can ask?

A better question being, at what point hasn't Star Trek been social commentary. It is the original tv serial that tackled social issues and is built on probing those issues. Science fiction has been the genre that at social issues and how technology influences them.

Some people just waking up to the this idea are the same group that are surprised Twisted Sister and Rage Against the Machine aren't actually singing right wing nationalist anthems.

I dont mind Star Trek's theme they have spun over the past 50 years, they have always pushed things slightly but never in a slap in the face way. Im more wondering if its something different then the Star Trek norm?

So, it's an EGS exclusive? When is it supposed to come to other platforms? Like GOG or Steam?

I bought it and so far I enjoy it immensely. I feel engaged in the story deeply. There are one or two things I don't like, like the inability to save anytime I want, but otherwise I'm pleased with it.

I'm glad it's not on steam. It would probably get review bombed, by people who don't like star trek and thought they'd get a Mass Effect type game.

You can only review games on Steam that you own. Games get bombed that mostly deserve it. This game will stand as a great game for what it is. Story driven gameplay. I'm really looking forward to it and it needs to get on other platforms asap.

If it comes to steam I'll buy it. If it doesn't no loss for me, loss for them for sure but not me. I don't buy things that have exclusives with epic because I detest epic's practices, nor do I buy games that give exclusives to certain systems like Spiderman in Avengers game only for playstation. Just my thing. Let me play and buy where I want when I want or I don't buy. I am ok with certain exceptions, blizzard games and nintendo, but they have always been like that and both predate Steam.

It's on Xbox and PlayStation, if you play on console. Unfortunately it isn't on Xbox for PC either, not just Steam Store, which makes me think it's an Epic exclusive on PC.

The MMO population isn't as tiny as you may think. In fact it's one the more populated MMOs I play regularly They have a lot of updates and events going on constantly and it's easy to get a good fleet of ships and gear without spending a dime. I'll admit I couldn't get into it either at first, but one day out of boredom I started grinding out the story and came to enjoy it. I think the console version is pretty popular since it's one of the few MMOs on xbox.
