Are they seriously trying to spin that less people will increase results....?

"We’ve upgraded the game to 64-bit" which didn't seem to do much of squat as far as I could tell.

Keith Kanneg Says Star Wars: The Old Republic Studio Shift is a 'New Beginning'...of the End. That sounds a bit more appropriate.

I imagine there will maaaaaaybe 2-3 more of their tiny little content updates before it goes into full maintenance mode. Unless they are including the cash shop as part of the "content"; in that case I would imagine there will be plenty of updates hehe.

How is the population in the game currently? Anyone know? Is it dwindling? I haven't logged in for a about a year to check.

One big question is how many people move to the new studio along with the game.  If the new studio means all new programmers who aren't familiar with the code base, then that's going to be a disaster.

It's one thing for particular programmers to move on and be replaced over the course of the years.  Others who are still around and have been working on the game for quite a while can help the new hires get up to speed.  Replacing everyone at once is a totally different matter entirely.  That might be kind of okay if the game is really, really well documented.  But most large, private programming projects aren't well documented, and unless SWTOR is a major exception, trying to replace all of the programmers at once would mean that the game is on life support whether the studio intends for that to be the case or not.

Thought there was something about the team moving over to the new studio, but the team size being cut in half as well.

"about" half the team is moving over which is "about" 40 people.

    So...yes.

Guess phrasing does matter there in terms of if there's plans to change the size of the team to fill what was lost in the move or if that's just the team now, and without knowing which positions were lost it's a little hard to tell what knowledge they are bringing with them.

Keith tried. He really did. But he didn't have quality resources to work with, so ... . Yeah. It was a good, fun game. Have to admit.

    It's still EA though.

Its little more than a cash shop built on the universes worst MMO engine at this point, theres only so many pairs of pants whales are going to buy. SWTOR has been a license blocker for years this shift is just the end of it, I cant imagine the game brings in enough money to cover the Star Wars license even with Disney working hard to devalue the IP.
