Throne And Liberty - "What's going on there k-beta test?"

So.... i saw this in my Youtube feed, and ...hmmmm.



I feel like this is worth at least discussing, and while this is the current outlook of the Korean beta test(a lot can change from this point to launch); i have to say some of the problems certain players are highlighting in this video seem to remind me a heck of a lot of what korean beta testers were griping about with Bless before the combat revamp.

Take it for what you will, but i just hope TnL isn't on the same trajectory as Bless Online was on.

    2:00 in this guy already set himself up as a tab targeting hater and you can tell he prefers action combat. Well tab targeting is ok, and I've played some good ones... buuuut. I will say it sounds like their tab target combat needs work.

    It sounds to me that he just prefers the "Running around frenetic" combat.

    I'm fine with not doing that. I find that tiring.

    Yeah, its kind of more known to like action based combat. That aside, this game suffers more than just from the combat choice. Its pretty much a mobile game being ports to pc when you look at all the systems and stuff.

    My experience with melee is just ok but not weighty enough for my tastes.
    I generally only play melee. 
    I do not like the idle-rpg elements.
    I enjoy some of the things I have experienced so far but if they cannot change the idle aspects and fix the melee combat I, and many other people, will not play it. 

    That's all I needed to hear, from a source that matters. Thank you. =D

    Yeah, the later parts of this video go over a bit of that; and frankly i'd be fine with all the auto pathing/combat and the 8 hour offline auto-combat function on a mobile game- it's something i've come to expect from titles like Black Desert Mobile.

    I really hope they take player feedback and the criticisms to heart.

    Very unlikely. At a public beta stage what you test is pretty much what you will get.

    From what Ive watched it plays very similar to L2.  In L2 combat was static and you had to mouse click to move(at least T&L added wasd).  L2 was also ultra grindy to the point where end gamers had bot programs to level chars when they would sleep.  I can see where the autocombat is coming from, its their own built-in bot program because the game is going to be a grind as well.  Is this acceptable for todays mmorpg? Maybe not for those new to the genre in the last couple years but for the 15+ year mmorpger's we've seen it before.  

    I personally was hoping to get a modern day spiritual successor to L2, but dont think im going to get that but its not gonna prevent me from trying the game.  F2P afterall.

    dude is crying because he cant clip animation. The tab target locking is the bright spot for me. eliminates any questions of glitching animation.

    The way the system looks now, i don't understand why anyone would even attempt to play a melee class, especially in pvp when alls you need to do to avoid getting hit is run away .5 meters.  Being non-mobile for any combat action just sounds like a horrid experience.

    To be fair in all of this, Lineage 2 is still one of the most popular mmorpgs in the eastern market. I think even Cabal Online and Silkroad Online are more populated than FFXIV in the eastern market. The problem is that doesn't translate in the western market.

    Hopefully this piece of crap crashes and burns immediately.

    Hopefully it is such a massive flop it serves as a warning to all to never again attempt this style of gameplay.

    Auto play is an abomination even among mobile MMOs.
