    Greetings MMORPGers,

Normally I don't chime in on these raucous debates, but I do have an opportunity to interview the Bright Star Studios team again. As usual, I have plenty of my own questions to ask, but I wanted to see if our community had any questions for them as well. Since blockchain and games of their ilk are relatively new to the genre, I think it's absolutely fair for our fervent (and always respectful, -hint-hint-) community to get their own questions answered about these projects.

I'll swing back by this thread early next week just in case some questions arise. Feel free to message me directly as well, if you're not comfortable with posting questions in this thread. I may not be able to get them all answered, but I'll do my best.

    Happy posting!
When do they plan on letting players try out the gameplay, even as a demo or alpha or some such?

People didnt actually pay a total of  $200 million RL dollars for land in this piece of junk game did they? That would be absolutely insane

I'd view those numbers with the same skepticism I view SC's numbers; although, I don't think SC is a pump and dump scheme.

Nah, SC is a pump the chumps scheme.
Star Citizen has at least proven that they have an actual game that people who pay a bunch of money can actually play.  It's very unfinished, but it's at least real, and there are apparently some people who really like it.  Ember Sword has not proven that.

They have had one technical test and one open alpha so far. Both were pretty rough but there was like 6 months or something between the two and there was a lot of progress made between them.

i guess my question would be: does the game have to be released and go"live"? Or do the investors in "alpha game virtual land" just lose their money no matter what?

Any money that you spend buying land in the game is lost the moment you spend it.  The open question is how long it takes you to realize that it is lost.

Are they hosting their land rush in Solarwood Oklahoma by any chance?

Do participants get a free horse or buckwagon to race to their plots too? Lol.

What, you expect to get actual land?  All that you get for buying land is some bits that say that you own land in a game that may or may not actually launch eventually.

Look like Shroud of the Avatar to me . I see so many people throw money in shroud for fancy housing and hope that the game would trend. Well they soon realise that game studio was spending most their time in ''teleton asset'' and new housing asset. And the game never actually became fun and loose all the small guy that just buy basic pledge to actually play it ( regular acces to the beta , with no land/housing ) . So it just flop .The only guy that actual had some fun with shroud was Richard Gariot when he look at is wallet

For me ember sword is what happened when ''nft freaks '' that know fuck all about mmorpg just choose to ''invest'' in videogame . Like don't get me wrong if the game became a commercial succes , some of them gonna cash in and make some profit.

But the elephant in the room is outside the ''invest hype'' , i have seen nothing from ember sword that would make it a good a game to actually play. Game need to be good at first , so it became a succes and you profit from this money you threw in . Honestly for me the huge ''red flag '' is not that they are selling land . The red flag is all the time i ear about ember sword , its always about monetization and never about gameplay . No one hype for the actual game mechanic , pvp , pve ,craft of what ever ... because its look boring and generic ( lets be honest it look like a wish version of albion online) , thats for me the red flag. Honestly to me the game just seem like #XXXX generique mmo that gonna flop ( but with a giant invest hype from non gamer people because they read ''blockchain'' somewhere on the website) .

People are hype about the economic model ( you know old dream of making legal real money playing video game ) , but totally forget that its still important for the game to actually be fun for it to be a succes.

At the end of the day , i struggle to see any reason why Ember Sword would be the next big mmo , what make it different from all the other "non blockchain '' mmo that flop those last years ( shroud of avatar , legend of aria , ... ) ? For me its possible to have successfull blockchain mmo , but the game need the be first a good mmorpg then SECOND got blockchain. All i see here , is people trying to build more a nft / blockchain game then an actual good mmorpg.

The bits are secured via block-chain, which allow a person to sleep at night.

If you think I'm trash talking the game so I can pick me up some land fer cheap, you'd be correct.
