The good, as in not all my cup of tea but i can see why someone might like them: AA, EVE, EQ 2, Lineage 2, The Saga Of Ryzom, WOW, Guild Wars, Final Fantasy XI, CoH/COV.
The Bad, as in er Bad.....

Knight online, Mu online, Turfwars, Legend of Ares, Rf online, Shadowbane, Runescape, Martial heroes, Gunbound, Priston tale, Ragnarok online, Conquer online, Rose online, Risk your life, Risk your life 2, Silkroad, Flyff, GTH, Supreme destiny, Thang online, Ferentus, Rubies of eventide, Maple story, Dungeons & Dragons Online, Planetside, Horizons.
The ugly, as in good but dated: Everquest, Asheron's Call, Dark Age Of Camelot, Ultima Online, AO.
If your looking for a game that is already on the market i would go with one from the good pile, the ugly, games that are good if you choose to look past graphics and falling player populations and the bad, games that are pure pulp.

You should have a decent category, some of those games in bad don't deserve to be there. Silkroad/Ferentus are both very impressive for free games especially compared to trash like Runescape. Though it is very much opinion. Planetside or Shadowbane do have some hardcore fans.

I guess it's all subjective but Silkroad & ferentus do not deserve to be called decent in my opinion.

For free they aren't bad. Assuming Ferentus release the majority of the game for free.
Post Catacombs and Darkness Falls, DAoC is not that ugly, actually graphic is not great but nice, animations bit worse.
DAoC deserves ugly because although PvP is great, graphics are way outdated (with reason, but anyone who is starting out now doesnt want to play an outdated game).
The list is reasonable, in my opinion, a few tweaks here and there, but over all, new MMORPGers should definately try out the "good" ones before anything else. They have the most positivies to their names.
Because of all the junk games out there and the new ones that are even just as bad,I reinstalled WOW and i'll be trying out Dark and Light.
I also got my copy of HOMM V,Limited Maps and senerios untill the big patch comes out.
Personally the only 2 games i think will become the top dogs in the MMORPG gener will be Vanguard:Saga of Heroes and WAR(Warhammer Online.

It looks better then WoW (just imo, you don't have to agree). Graphic is updated now, game is far from looking bad, but I can agree that animations are outdated and UI is old.
If you read my explanation next to the heading you would realise that i did not call the game ugly, I said it was dated. Two of my favourite mmo's of all time Ao & DAoc are in that category purely for the reason that some aspects of the games would be considered as dated. But i classified with more of a view on the server populations, realistically there is only one way for these game's to go, especially if you consider the ammount of new releases planned. All in all these games are considered past their prime.
Absolutely. The OP needs to make a fourth category: abominable and RoE can proudly become its first member.
