Activision Blizzard released their Q2 2023 financials this morning, and while it's not all rosy for the company, there are some pretty big milestones for the publisher, namely surrounding the release of Diablo 4.

    If only blizzard had the resources to compete with studios like larian for quality and scope.

    The fucking whining by other developers that Baldur's Gate is an anomaly with unfair advantages that we shouldn't expect as a raised baseline for RPGs is embarassing. We're talking about a AA studio that faced the brink of financial ruin twice, and they still turned out 2 masterpieces, with Baldur's Gate 3 likely proving to be a 3rd.

    But I sure am glad that one of the best RPG developers ever is getting the recognition they deserve.

    Let's see how many people are still playing D4 next week after the cluster eff up of a patch yesterday lol.

    When even the most die-hard of Diablo fans are scorching Blizzard on youtube now, then you know you got a problem.

    Blizzard never learns. Already uninstalled this mess of a game and moved on. At least I leveled two classes through the Story campaign and that was fun. Tier 3 and onwards was just horribly boring and not worth my time.
    The patch yesterday just confirms not to bother with Season 1 and quit this mess.
