Baldur's Gate 3 is officially upon us, a month earlier than previously expected. But how does the full, fat experience hold up, and if you've held out buying early access, should you wait even longer to jump into the world of Faerun? Check out our review in progress.

Yeah, do the math. 75 - 100 hours of play time for average play through. Like, under a dollar per hour. Fairly cheap entertainment. Maybe its just me....
Honestly, as long as like the game you could feasibly play it for a long time. Just different characters and different choices.

But some interesting indie mmos will be out by then not to mention Horizon Forbidden West on PC (unless you already played it on a console).
So many choices, so little gaming time eh!?
I'm fairly certain you could have just made "some" decision and got on with it.

This is going to be an easy 80-100 hour RPG for me as I like meaningful side quests, of which there seem to be plenty. Will be a nice change of scenery frame MMOs and games as a service, all focused in one major quest. By the time I finish I suspect there will be numerous mods to extend, expand, or tweak the gameplay to give more reasons to play again (I believe there are multiple endings as well).
Looking forward to the full review!
That said, BG3 absolutely deserves the win.
Pretty sure it is all you, Character creation was seamless and simple for me.
Well it finished when I had to leave for work...
This is going to be a looong work day but also a great weekend!
I know, the struggle is real. I have D4, Remnant 2, Final Fantasy 16, The Outer Worlds Spacer’s Choice Edition, One Piece Odyssey and FF Crisis Core to play through first…. I guess Christmas next year sounds good for this one. Will get it nevertheless, I have been with Larian since Divine Divinity and they are insanely talented.
One question though for those playing, is this Divinity OS the Baldurs Gate Edition or is it Baldurs Gate, the Larian edition? And with D:OS Edition I mean the wacky humor and environmental damage overload. I love it but wouldn’t mind it absent in my Baldurs Gate games.

'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'
Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...
'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

With 3 hours in I'm off to a good start, although not flawless. I've had 2 game-breaking bugs where 1 reset me pretty hard and other one forced me to restart 3 times before I noticed how to work around it. Apart from that, pretty solid.
F5 is your friend.
This review is sounding like some sort of Epic Quest.
Bets on BG3 being GotY anyone?
As long as the game does not have microtransactions, I don't have an issue with the price. Besides, I'm willing to pay $1 for every hour of entertainment a video game will provide, and will wait on sale until it drops to or below that amount. For those curious, I just use the "how long to beat" site to judge this.
At any rate, I haven't bought it yet either since I just started playing Hogwarts a week ago and I'm enjoying that right now. I'll probably pick BG3 up next if it rates high enough, otherwise I'll just play another game on my list. Either way, I'll end up picking it up eventually. Also, games like this warrant more than one playthrough due to the variety of classes you can play, but also the different choices you can make.
Best of luck to you either way.
