1st time in many years where I'll be playing a game that isn't an mmorpg. In fact, I'm looking forward to it because today's players are simply not as fun to play along side as they used to be. Times have changed, and people have socially regressed. I'll likely explore single and small coop games again.

I would love to play this game but 60 EU for a game that only can be played once and then you never play it anymore..Its just like diablo 4..pay 100 eu or die.

I see kinguin has it for half price but then it comes on a new steam account rather asa cd key. HaiyaaaA!

I have no idea how i'm going to be able to play anything else for awhile.  It feels like Christmas and a Birthday 10 times over.

Yeah, do the math. 75 - 100 hours of play time for average play through. Like, under a dollar per hour. Fairly cheap entertainment. Maybe its just me....

Honestly, as long as like the game you could feasibly play it for a long time. Just different characters and different choices.

I'll get to it one of these days.
Work has been bananas lately and I am still slowly plugging along in D4
After that I have Aliens Dark Descent
    After that Remnant 2
After that I need to finish my early Elex 2 game (probably just restart)

I would guess Q2 2024 I can pick it up.

But some interesting indie mmos will be out by then not to mention Horizon Forbidden West on PC (unless you already played it on a console).

So many choices, so little gaming time eh!?

Tried to play. Character creation is beyond stupid. So much so I quit before getting to the game. EA, I could actually create a character. Now, it's like random vs random, X random TRY to make your Dude, random VxVxV/We put money into this?? I sure didn't care for it, in EA, even, but now........ my God....

I'm fairly certain you could have just made "some" decision and got on with it.

Unlike D4 which is currently built to waste a lot of my time, the first few hours of BG3 have been incredible to me. I intentionally avoided early access and was impressed by the character creator, about if classes/subclasses, races, and customization options. However, that has nothing on the actual game engine, which is amazing. Great cutscenes, strong voice acting, and a tremendous amount of options to approach everything from exploration, interaction, and combat.

This is going to be an easy 80-100 hour RPG for me as I like meaningful side quests, of which there seem to be plenty. Will be a nice change of scenery frame MMOs and games as a service, all focused in one major quest. By the time I finish I suspect there will be numerous mods to extend, expand, or tweak the gameplay to give more reasons to play again (I believe there are multiple endings as well).

Looking forward to the full review!

There are many GOTY contenders this year. 2023 is one of the GOAT gaming years.

That said, BG3 absolutely deserves the win.

Pretty sure it is all you, Character creation was seamless and simple for me.

I haven't played but bought for my 16 year old daughter and she didn't have any issue with character creation. I love her but she isn't the brightest tool in the shed sometimes and she managed. Just saying...

I did have some issues but i figured it out in the end. My only issue so far i dont know how long buff potions and most spells last, the T button doesnt really expand on it. But Still this is a great game ill will probably play through 10 times for a 1000 hours of enjoyment

I'm sure I'll pick it up at some point, but I have a lot to finish playing through over the next several months.

From the little bit of game play footage I've seen BG3 looks gorgeous. The 4 person party is a nagging concern, so I'm waiting to see how that shakes out in the long term with the D&D community. I also want to hear how tactics, strategy, and character building shakes out after people complete the campaign.

I know, the struggle is real. I have D4, Remnant 2, Final Fantasy 16, The Outer Worlds Spacer’s Choice Edition, One Piece Odyssey and FF Crisis Core to play through first…. I guess Christmas next year sounds good for this one. Will get it nevertheless, I have been with Larian since Divine Divinity and they are insanely talented.

One question though for those playing, is this Divinity OS the Baldurs Gate Edition or is it Baldurs Gate, the Larian edition? And with D:OS Edition I mean the wacky humor and environmental damage overload. I love it but wouldn’t mind it absent in my Baldurs Gate games.

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

This is typically not my type of game as I get restless, but I bought it and will give it an honest go. Hopefully even play some Co-op.

With 3 hours in I'm off to a good start, although not flawless. I've had 2 game-breaking bugs where 1 reset me pretty hard and other one forced me to restart 3 times before I noticed how to work around it. Apart from that, pretty solid.

    F5 is your friend.

This review is sounding like some sort of Epic Quest. ;)

Bets on BG3 being GotY anyone?

I see kinguin has it for half price but then it comes on a new steam account rather asa cd key. HaiyaaaA!

As long as the game does not have microtransactions, I don't have an issue with the price. Besides, I'm willing to pay $1 for every hour of entertainment a video game will provide, and will wait on sale until it drops to or below that amount. For those curious, I just use the "how long to beat" site to judge this.

At any rate, I haven't bought it yet either since I just started playing Hogwarts a week ago and I'm enjoying that right now. I'll probably pick BG3 up next if it rates high enough, otherwise I'll just play another game on my list. Either way, I'll end up picking it up eventually. Also, games like this warrant more than one playthrough due to the variety of classes you can play, but also the different choices you can make.

Best of luck to you either way.
