Now you see the mistake EVE made was making the board game after the MMO was launched. If they had done what some crowd funders have done and planned a board game while still making the MMO imagine how much more successful CCP Games would have been! ;)

As the legend goes the founders of CCP actually did first create a board game to help fund initial development of EVE Online.

"The name "CCP" is short for "Crowd Control Productions".[5] To finance the initial development of Eve Online, CCP Games developed and published a board game, called Hættuspil ("Danger Game").[2] The game sold more than 10,000 copies to Iceland's 80,000 households.

So Jeremy was not wrong in trying to get a board game out then, that was who I was thinking of. :)

Of course you are not going to get any funding from a board game that you start to develop and never actually release. Well I guess he could have crowd funded the board game, par the course for him.

How appropriate as that is how I feel when I play EVE, bored. Get it? Board... bored...

Actually just sour grapes on my part caused I sucked at PvP. Ok, and PvE as well. Just could not master the darn game. Glad its still going and there is a player base that enjoys it! :)
