This is getting more ridiculous daily. Why does Microsoft want this company so bad? Activision Blizzard has nothing but IPs that they have done nothing but ruin. The company itself is embroiled in labor fights and sexual misconduct claims. All the talent has left. What is Microsoft buying?

Activision Blizzard is still about as profitable as ever, and more profitable than a lot of other big game publishers. So far their labor fights, sexual misconduct claims, or the talented people who've left have had no effect on their ability to do good business.

As a company they are in much better shape than a lot of their competitors.

They want the mobile games library and development Activision has, why they don't care about making any of the concessions around PC games.

They actually bring in around 2 billion a year profits. The purchase price is 68 Billion. It would take 30 years to make the money back and could get the same profit by just investing 68 billion in stable funds.

Whether the purchase price is sensible or not is another question. Personally I think Microsoft is paying too much.

But Activision Blizzard is making up around 20-30% operating profit. As a company they're in good enough shape.

I thought they want the mobile games division isn't it. That's the reason right or am I wrong.

It is just a matte of time, this is just the sort of move that will let the CMA claim this as a victory, once again this is not just about the rights or wrong of the case, all regulatory bodies feel a need to justify their exitance.
