Gloria Victis Final Season - from Steam today.

"Dear Community,

With a heavy heart, after detailed calculations and deep considerations, we have to share the news that the new Glory Season starting today will be the Final Season in Gloria Victis."

"And, sadly, for that reason the new season will be the last in Gloria Victis. We want to invite all of you for the Final Season which will end with the servers closure on 31st October 2023."

    The cost of upkeep on a MMO is no joke.

    I wonder if they can retool the game into something more sustainable.

    The game play was pretty silly. 2handed weapons oneshotted and swung faster then 1 hand weapons. It seemed like that wasn't going to change anytime soon.

    The servers themselves were kind of crappy to begin with.

    It was an amazing concept and maybe something they can redo on Amazon Lumberyard and get free hosting.

    Clearly must have been deficient in a number of areas but can't say I ever gave it a serious look.

    Well, they tried, they made the game they wanted even though it had flaws and it's a shame. But good on them for actually doing something instead of just talking and making it happen.

    Hope they move on to better projects.

    A shame.  They really seemed to try and evolve the game and were constantly updating and improving things.  Sometimes, if not many times, hard work doesn't offset cost.  RIP

    I got like a real early version of this when it was like 5 bucks or so but never could really get into it.

    That's unfortunate. They tried pretty hard to make a go of it and the combat had some interesting aspects. If I was more PvP inclined I would have put more time into it.

    Just because you work hard on something doesn't mean it's a good product. I see more and more a connection between showcases where they are so eager to tell us gamers how hard they have been working on something to then present something very bland. You don't need to tell me that you have worked hard if your product clearly shows that.

    An interesting Adbot here, it's taken @Qbertq 's post, replacing various words but still conceptionally retaining the same thoughts in the same cadence.

    I guess AI driven adbots are evolving to try and avoid detection.
