I'm still trying to figure out whats going on here, but i love promotional material like this before a big game is released; or completed in the case of BG3.

Err yes, Larian Studios actually has disappointed a LOT.

    Group size four.

They made a game with 12 races plus subraces and 11 classes plus subclasses - and you can only have FOUR peeps in your group.

That means you really just want the D&D default core group - 1 tank 1 healer 1 thief 1 mage - and dont have space for anything else. No fluff classes like Bard or Monk or Warlock, no Druids because when in doubt I'd rather have a Cleric, no Sorcerer because when in doubt I'd rather have a Wizard.

And here I always thought the group size of six was really too small for BG1 and BG2. I think seven or even better eight would have been the goldilocks size, even back then.

And all the companions seem to have the alignment boring evil.

No funny evil (Viconia, Edwin) and certainly no goody two shoes (except Minsc) or even just neutrals (except Jaheira). Even that Drow Paladin sounds bad.

Are there even romances ? Not that I can see any character one would want to romance anyway.

This isnt a BG3. This is a Neverwinter Nights 3. And just like NWN2, I will probably make another high intelligence high dexterity Rogue(1)/Fighter(19) tank just so I can handle traps and locks myself (ignoring all other Rogue skills) and arent forced to have the only available Rogue with me all the time, just for traps and locks. And then play I'll play the game once. And never touch it again.

In turn based controlling 6-7 characters each turn is tedious and no fun at all not to mention how overpowered you will be covering so many skills and spells between the 7. 4-5 is fine and I will probably play it several times.

My very favorite offline games are Baldurs Gate 1 + 2, who have 6 people parties and turn based combat.
