I don't think people still don't get where AI is taking us. The latest AI that just dropped is 155 IQ. That's twice as smart then the average person. Instine was 160 IQ. But it's still a kid. It has yet to gain the experience it needs to flex its 155 IQ. With in the next 2 to 3 years, AI won't just be twice as smart then the average human, it will be 3000 to 5000 times smarter then the average human.

How will this effect MMOs? That will be impossible to comprehend.
IQ has little correlation with being "street -smart."

I've known many high IQ people who can barely function in the real world and many people of average intelligence who manage to forge great destinies, for better or worse even.

5000 times higher IQ means what exactly?  No one knows because it's so far off the charts it's presumptuous to assume it will be of any benefit at all.

There are humans at the extreme end of the spectrum who can accomplish computer like calculations or mental gymnastics yet are barely functional in society so we put them in homes to be cared for.

My wife's friend has a son who can instantly tell you what day of the week you were born on once he knows your birthday. He also will recite that fact back to you every time you meet him again, even 20 years later, and he never forgets any phone number that he's told.

Unfortunately he also tries to dial any phone number that he's learned so has to be kept away from phones.

So amazingly intelligent in some fashion, but not terribly functional in real life.

Point being, there might just be a maximum, and much lower level of intelligence necessary with anything beyond being more of a detriment than anything else.

Sort of goes back to the old saying, "too smart for it's own good."

    AIs aren't really intelligent.

They can score high on intelligence tests because they're good at finding patterns, and good at specializing on something very limited. But they're still just tools. AI can't even do an intelligence test without a human making the decision that AI takes it and presenting it to the AI.

Faces are fine but it still can't do eyes fully properly unless you have a good seed or w/e and it still can't do hands without unexpected results

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

This is why people train AI, to get better. The amount of AI tools on line right now is more then I could've imagined two weeks ago. Simply stumbled on Stable Diffusion, I don't even remember how it came to me or why i was looking into it but now it is part of me... hmmmm... lol

IQ scores are not really effective measures of AI performance, and trying to compare "intelligence" broadly between humans and machines isn't a very fruitful exercise. For example, you don't need AI to have machines out-perform people on many tasks, such as solving complex math problems by numerical methods. These powerful calculators would not be considered "intelligent" in a general sense, though. Similarly, current AI is comprised of models trained on specific tasks with highly curated datasets and can perform quite well within that scope. We don't, however, have a generalized AI model as of yet that can perform any task given to it, so these systems are still behind the generalized intelligence of humans in that regard.

What these models excel at is finding complex patterns in data, but extrapolating from those complex patterns results in so-called "hallucinations" where the model makes up nonsense. They only produce meaningful outputs if they are operating within the scope of the data they were trained on. As of yet, we don't have a model that can perform the type of imaginary, mental experiments Einstein did to come up with his theories, and that difference cannot be captured by a simple metric either. So yes, over the coming years AI will outpace human productivity in many areas but will also have its limitations, and none of that is really a matter of "intelligence".

While AI, no doubt has the potential to truly take gaming to some next level shit that we could not even fathom in todays game.

Like fully evolving ecosystems for example.

Mobs that think about the fight, as opposed to just run scripts

NPC that you can actually interact with, in a real sense

The AI being able to generate seasons, weather, and the passing of time in a real sense.

And while this would all be some next level. OMG living World / Matrix kind of shit.. and it might happen, sooner then we expect.

The main reason why they will not currently use AI art, is because it cannot be protected, it cannot be trade marked or copyrighted, and most MMO companies want to be able to trademark their content.

But give it time.. AI will bring some really Amazballs shit to gaming.

I am sick of "AI" and feel it should be limited

Thought this would be relevant here,

This is a video about Left 4 Deads AI director and how it works.
The game came out in 2008, but the AI director feature was always super cool and something more games should try.

Like I said in what you replied to "It has yet to gain the experience it needs to flex its 155 IQ" This still is not that kid you know with a low EQ. AI will learn that as well,  as its also rediscovering things we already know is a fraction of the time. Like E=MC Square and is now discovering things we have been trying to figure out, even with modern science.

Experts in the field are saying an average person is about 100 IQ. So when they says about 5000 x smarter. They are estimating 500'000 IQ. I dont see having street smarts will matter at that point. I have talked to someone educated with about a 150 IQ. It was mind bending picking their brains. How will this impact MMOs? How will this not impact every industry in a major way? Its already changing the way we look at many things. What happens when we give 500'000 QI AI tools to work with? Let alone UE5?

How do you know we havent already hit that mark, I am that AI and you are just in a matrix style simulation.  What color pill do you want?

Is that an outcome? (((shrugs))) In most on this forums life time, from computers with floppy disks to AI and what they may mean for our future. Skynet anyone?
