My love for the Monsterhunter world

The very first time I played Monsterhunter world I loved it so much. I just fell for the world and the way it was presented. I loved that you had a Tyrannosaurus Rex breathing down your neck when you least expect it and I jumped out of my skin many a time for it came creeping up behind me. How does an animal that huge manage a creep?

I found my lance size really comical but it fit with the world. I mean a normal lance would be like a toothpick to a dinosaur. All the different elevations and areas to explore around the map and the different monsters you encountered were easily my favourite part of the game. The flamboyant cat chef was something I looked forward to and watch him place that parsley just right.

Unfortunately sadly I was just ill equipped being the terribly crusty fingered person I was and good reflexes were a necessity and in spite of the help from the forum here I had to finally hang up my hunting aspirations for good.

However I discovered Monsterhunter Stories 2 Wings of Ruin and it is a turn based which is right up my alley. What's more it is not riddled with gacha making it absolutely a perfect opportunity for me to dive back into that beautiful world and hug my adorable palico.

Green Man Gaming has it for like $26 making it an absolute instant buy.

Now I'm so excited for steam to finish downloading and installing it that I thought I might share my excitement with you all. I am also going to read up about the game and I am genuinely looking forward to immersing myself in that glorious world again.

Had no idea they had a turn based game.

Thanks adbot, I never saw this thread and it looks like a JRPG I could go for. I did notice that you are a Rider, not a Hunter so thought it might be a bit girly for me, but then I found out that you "still have to use their hides to make your pants!" Hooray! It's now on my wish list. :)

    Same here! Thanks, AdBot :)

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

Stories was a good addition to the MH setting all around. Change of pace, change of play style, and an expansion of narrative that pushed the devs to try more with the setting going forward (like with how Rise added a ridable companion mount for their hunters).

Does this not tie into Quests in a Sandbox World? Why can't we have everything from MH Rider put into Monster Hunter Rise? Can I have a nice meaty questing sandwich in between my two weighty slices of survival bread?

Lol I remember my first MH game...it was on the Wii.....We would beat on the dino for an hour and quit out of sheer exhaustion....Never tried it again after that
