    They took Final Fantasy 7 and made it gatcha - deeply so. It's a little odd you didn't bring it up since it's so engrained into this game.

    They are trying to monetize FF7 as much as possible. It's garbage.

    As soon as I saw an energy system, gatcha pulls and a 'hub' to buy all this shit, I uninstalled. What a waste of potential.

    SE has done this for nearly a decade, you can just search final fantasy in google/apple stories and see at least 5+ I guess this one is just getting more attention atm because of FF7R news. I'd think people would be more worried that Remake and now Rebirth both had $300 editions each with probably 3-4 more games left in the tank. But of course no one is 'forcing' anyone to buy those editions so I guess its okay, right?

    If you are a big fan to a certain extent it is fair to say you are forced.

    That is the most ridiculous jump I've seen. The game was made for ff7 fans that want to throw their money down the drain to relive the story again. They keep rehashing this one, only fans are going pay for gacha rolls, who else cares?

    This article feels out of place considering the game fully launched on Sep 7. We should be getting a review by this point instead of demo impressions.

    1. It's a gacha. Anyone pissed about a gacha shouldn't have a smartphone. It's a part of the appstore offerings. Almost every mobile game operates on the same formula, but not all. If there's no stamina, then there's a catch. Also, there's more than enough Stamina to go around in FF7EC. It's easy to whine about a basic system without understanding not only why it's in place, but also how easily it's circumvented. Developers choose to give stamina refills out the ass as a bypass that correlates to the WHY.

    2. It's based on FF7, and for fans due to the fact that it even includes The First Soldier, a battle royale game. It's called fanservice. It's been a concept in Japan for a very long time.

    This is why it's primarily for fans, or fans only. Who else would want to touch THREE DIFFERENT INTRODUCTIONS/PROLOGUES "set in the FF7 Universe"?

    3. It's playable for free. Many gachas are because it's based off of luck.

    4. It has enough staying power to exist up until Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's release. That's what we'd call short-lived fanservice. Things die and get forgotten absurdly fast these days.

    5. SQEX pays dev to create and maintain live service app. It's better to call it for what it is, rather than a "game". It's not maintained by SQEX directly.

    6. There's a phone game for everything. It's easy to bitch about a series being milked/monetization, but you're culturally inept if you don't know the Asian side of gambling/gaming/live service apps.
