 Yo! whats up im taking a vote on the top 10 horror movies you all pick and the average # that a single movies get's will increase it's rank so lets get's this poll rollin!

    Well a scary movie for me is one that can be based in real life events for myself.

    JAWS (I have had run ins with sharks and underwater they are very very very

               and you do pray when you see them coming)

    Hummm thats about it really oh other then ED GEIN that is a true story and the movie Texas chain saw massacre is loosely based on him.

    I still like hookers.....

    True I dont think it is that scary but is it bone chilling in some parts if you have better movies post them here.

    i wont vote on those since the most scary one i ever saw was "the dentist", what kind of a sick guy would take the dentist theme for a movie.... they freak me out even when they are not psyco lol

    Well Im glad some poeple understand good movies I just put those off the top of my head I will Make another poll laterz with more and better horror movies I need some input on those so give me some lists of movies.

    You can take off 13 Ghosts, So I Married An Axe Murderer (it's a dark comedy, not a horror film), and The Grudge.  

    You could throw in The Shining, The Omen, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original), Night of the Living Dead, Alien, Poltergeist, etc.

    Some of my personal favorites are 28 Days Later, Cabin Fever, and The Eye.

    1. I don't remember it's name, but it was about an abandoned mine which some chinese/japanese soldiers wen't into and they got killed by some zombie-like creatures.... Didn't see the whole movie since i got to scared  (saw it when i was about 9years old) but it still freaks me out when i think of it (it was called something with 'monster' if i remember it correctly)

    Most horror movies are pointless. Just watch a few crazy nuts killing everyone with no reason, no cause, no goal, no point, nothing...


    But if you count Resident Evil etc. as horror movie too. Then that's a different story. I like sci-fi type of stories. At least "a virus" makes some sense. Not some stupid moron killers who kill for aboslutely no reason at all. Idiots like that Jason who wear a football mask. And some morons wear mask of death. Completely pointless and worthless shows.

    btw, most victims in those horror movies are morons as well. They deserve to die imo. They died because of their own stupid. On the other hand, it is just the bad design of the movies.

    Watch loads of movies, favorite genre along with sci-fi.  A couple of the films... Doesnt mean they have to be scary, just good ;)

    Resident Evil? That story was paper thin with characters that had no life in them whatsoever. And when you watch an hour and a half film without the main character's name ever being discovered you know that no such thing as character development exists. Like most sci-fi horror films it had some pretty moments to look at but beyond that there was nothing much there. And if I recall everyone basically dies in that movie just like the horror films you're poking fun at. Only difference is that they're supposed to be smart but from what I saw they didn't seem very intelligent to me. If this presented some really unique idea (take the sci-fi horror film Cube) I could forgive the weaknesses of the movie and look past them. But zombies have been done and done before and this movie did nothing to add onto it.

    Horror movies are not pointless at all. Some are really bad and some are really good. The point of the movie is like any other, and that's to entertain. If it scares you in the process and you enjoy that then you'll enjoy the genre more. I don't get uncomfortable in horror movies often so the genre is not at the top of my list. But I do respect any good horror film as I would any other genre.

    And have you even seen the Friday the 13th films? He wears a hockey mask and not a football mask. If you watch the first film you see the reason behind his killings and if you understood that this is a 'slasher' flick then you should know that the movie is all about gore and death. :)

    The House of Usher with Vincent Price. Yeah, it's not Top 10 but oh well...
